God Loves You, and Barbara Morgan Has a Plan for Your Life | Carson Weber | Episode #189 | Carson Weber | Episode #189

Carson Weber, founder of On Fire Media, discovered a way to work for the Church without working for the Church. Through his team’s branding expertise and focus on helping mission-driven companies, Carson has answered the call to catechesis. After graduating from Texas A&M University, Carson felt a calling in his heart. He wanted to spend more of his life studying and growing closer to Christ. This discernment led Carson to Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio, to work with Dr. Scott Hahn and earn his Master of Arts in Theology & Christian Ministry with an emphasis in Catechetic Theology. While at Franciscan, Carson learned that “God loves you, and Barbara Morgan has a plan for your life.” Upon meeting Barbara, Carson realized he was called to a life of catechesis. He also met his wife while working with Barbara. Five kids later, the Weber family credits the Holy Spirit working through Barbara for many of the great things in their lives. In 2012, Carson resigned from his diocesan position to pursue his entrepreneurial dream of working full-time from home to be more present as a husband and father to his growing family. He founded On Fire Media, a web development and digital marketing agency that serves commercial and non-profit entities, including Catholic parishes, ministries, and schools, through CatholicWebsite.com. This show was almost a bust due to technical issues, but thankfully, former BeatiDudes guest Alex Trevino saved the day and allowed Carson Weber to share his heart and his journey with Paul Kolker, Nick Bezner, and Jeff Schiefelbein. God’s Marine Reporting for Duty | Stephen Henley | Episode #187

Ever a professional, the dandy-dressed Stephen Henley joins the BeatiDudes, Paul Kolker, Nick Bezner, and Jeff Schiefelbein, to talk about the journey of his life on the way to becoming the president of Legatus. Stephen spent two and a half years discerning the priesthood with the Legionaries of Christ, where he wrote his vocation story – aptly titled, God’s Marine. After discerning out of the seminar, the military theme continued, and Stephen joined the Marine Corps. During his time in the reserves, Stephen ended up in Florida, which proved to be an essential stop in his journey. Not only did he meet his wife during his time in the Sunshine State, but he also started his professional career by working at Ave Maria University. Like Legatus, Ave Maria was also started by Catholic business hero Tom Monaghan. Tom Monaghan founded Domino’s Pizza after being raised in orphanages and accidentally joining the Marine Corps. With much business and professional success, Tom searched for a place for executives to gather for Christ. After an impactful encounter with Saint Pope John Paul II, Tom was inspired to launch Legatus. In Latin, Legatus means ambassador, and that is exactly what Tom was promoting for Presidents, CEOs, and their spouses to become - Ambassadors for God. Stephen’s working relationship with Tom stemmed from a period when Tom required a driver while recovering from wrist surgery. Twenty years later, Stephen is now the President of Legatus. Legatus has 90 chapters across North America and is continuing to expand with new, more domestic and international chapters on the horizon. The purpose of Legatus is to study, live, and spread the Catholic faith in the personal, business, and professional lives of executives and their spouses. Stephen and his wife have six children and happily reside in Michigan. The Encourager of Lone Oak RV & Retreat | Brian Manhart | Episode #183

Brian Manhart, a friend from just outside of Lindsay, Texas, joins Paul Kolker, Nick Bezner, and Jeff Schiefelbein for a breath of fresh podcast air. Brian is the President and CEO of the Lone Oak RV Ranch & Retreat. Throughout his early career, Brian was told he would never find a job that matched his unrealistic view of work. He wanted to be indoors and outdoors, part-time with adults and part-time with kids, doing meaningful and fun work, etc. Through an incredible series of jobs and moves, including a job at a water ski camp for wealthy families in the Northeast, Brian eventually landed the opportunity to own an RV and retreat destination in North Texas. Everything Brian had experienced up to this point now made sense and allowed him to build Lone Oak, the place you visit when you just need to hear your heartbeat again. Brian believes the world has become overstimulated and distracted. He's spent decades creating the ideal experience to lead others into their best life through youth camping, retreats, speaking, writing, coaching, and RV experiences. He is known as "The Encourager" and lives each day like it is his last. Brian and his wife, Jennifer, have four children: Joseph, Claire, Luke, and Eli. They raise their family on one basic principle: Be Kind, Love Always, and Remain Encouraged.
