    For International Women's Day we have a special edition of Demand a New Normal with Kiran Khatra, who is speaking to organisers of the Women's Strike about what happens if women withdraw all the invisible labour which keeps the world functioning. We speak to Lana Crosbie about schools reopening. We have a report on how £50m got added to the bill for the rebuilding of the Bristol Beacon and we speak to Marcus Smith about his new documentary for the Bristol Cable on the phenomenon of vaccine hesistancy.     01/03/21 Council Budget and Waste Processing

    This was the week that the council published it's £420m budget for 2021/22. We have digested the numbers and sat through the zoom calls so you don't have to. We also spoke to Carla Denyer from the Greens, as well as Nicola Bowden Jones from Labour who buth submitted budget amendments. However, after a decade of austerity was there actually much room for disagreement between councillors? Is the real action in the huge private sector partnerships that didn't grab the headlines? At the end we spoke to Simon Holmes from St Philips Marsh Nursery school who is objecting to plans to build a waste processing plant just metres from his nursery.
