A podcast about Call of Duty on a casual and professional level. We're two gamers who have been playing Call of Duty for years now and have a passion for it. More specifically, watching professional Call of Duty. The scene is slowly growing with the Call of Duty League being introduced. We are casual players that love the scene and want the CDL to thrive in the future. Our goal for this podcast is to introduce more casual players to the CDL and hopefully resinate the same passion we have for COD in others. Hosted by: Justin Yin and Mike Hargens

GAMING AND CALL OF DUTY ARE IN TROUBLE... | The COD Casuals Ep. 270

Welcome to episode #270 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! In this episode, we start off with the increase in pricing for gaming, which now seems to be nearly across the board. With the recent news that Sony raised the price of the PS5 across the board, with the PS5 being $900, and Microsoft’s new CEO announcing a change to the Game Pass pricing, we cover the thoughts as a gamer in 2026, and how our hobby’s barrier to entry is getting more and more difficult to reach. Along with this, we also got a rumor circling that Call of Duty will be taken off of Xbox Game Pass later this year, assuming that COD’s next title will not be available through it. We share our thoughts on this move, and if it’s good or bad for the future of the game and the series, as GTA VI looms over all games releasing towards the end of this year. Finally, we end with some more CDL roster moves, as we draw close to the first week of the Major 3 qualifiers. What do you think of the price increase on consoles and gaming subscriptions? Do you have a cutoff price for consoles or games? Do you think consoles will continue to get more expensive, or will it eventually hit a cap? What do you think of the future of COD on Game Pass? Is this going to hurt or save the series down the line? Please let us know as we discuss this and much more! BLACK OPS 7 SEASON 3 OVERVIEW, CDL ROSTER CHANGES, AND MORE | The COD Casuals Ep. 269

Welcome to episode #269 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! In this episode, we start off with our overview of season 3 so far. As it’s the most anticipated season yet in Black Ops 7, we give our take on the new maps that have been added in, as well as a meta shift for competitive play as some nerfs and buffs have been implemented. We give our opinion on the shakeup, and what this will mean for ranked play and the CDL. Shifting to the CDL, we end with lots of roster news and rumors. Boston have officially made the decision to drop Snoopy and pick up Afro as their one change during this break, and we give our thoughts on the move, and if we’ll see any improvements into the major 3 qualifiers. There are also moves surrounding Carolina, Vancouver, and Riyadh that have yet to take place, but are in the process of going down. We share our insight into the potential moves, and ask if these are really the moves these teams need to be making to be fighting for a spot at champs. What are your thoughts on the season 3 maps so far? Are you a fan of the remasters, or do they feel different than they used to? Which is your favorite map? What do you think of the pros trying out different weapons, shifting up the meta? Finally, do you think Boston and the other teams making changes are gonna improve or stay the same come major 3?  Please let us know as we discuss this and much more! BLACK OPS 7 SEASON 3 OVERVIEW | FAZE ARE BACK! | The COD Casuals Ep. 268

Welcome to episode #268 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! In this episode, we start off with breaking down the season 3 roadmap. This has to be the most anticipated launch for a season in Black Ops 7, with tons of fan-favorite remasters returning, as well as the new season of ranked play. We break down each part of the roadmap, and give our thoughts on the big talking points from it, such as the return of the classic mode demolition. Finally, we end with the Major II results, and some of the biggest winners and losers from the event. Some of the big talking points from this Major are the updated power rankings, which teams saved their rosters from blowing up due to a good result, and those teams that will most likely see changes before the start of major III qualifiers. What are your thoughts on the season 3 roadmap? Do you like seeing a lot of these returning maps as remasters, or would you rather see brand new maps make up the majority of new map additions? Are you looking forward to the new ranked play season? Are there any changes that need to be made to it? Finally, did you watch major II over the weekend? What do you think of our takes on the teams at the top and bottom, and who needs to change?  Please let us know as we discuss this and much more! MODERN WARFARE 2019 IN 2026?! | The COD Casuals Ep. 267

Welcome to episode #267 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! In this episode, we start off with some Black Ops 7 updates. Master prestige has finally been achieved, and we’re getting into our other games in the back catalog. We share our struggles with balancing other games during the COD season, as well as the importance of being able to play enough of the game to give a review on it. When talking about opinions on games, our discussion shifts to MW 2019, as a recent sale has brought back lots of players to the game, along with double xp being provided. We don’t buy into the hype around this game, and give our reasons as to why this game was one of the worst in the franchise, and the beginning of the end for the series in recent years. Finally, we end with our CDL talk, and start with discussions regarding the Boston Breach who failed to qualify for Major II along with C9. We give our thoughts on their next moves, as well as predictions for Major II. What’s your current level right now in Black Ops 7? Are you still grinding it out, or are you someone hopping on the MW 2019 train currently? What do you think about our takes on MW 2019? Is it truly one of the worst CODs ever, or has it been judged too harshly? Finally, what do you think is next for the Boston Breach and Cloud 9? Will their inevitable roster changes bring them success, or will they stay at the bottom?  Please let us know as we discuss this and much more! BLACKOUT 2, BO7 SEASON 2 RELOADED, CDL MAJOR 2 | The COD Casuals Ep. 266

Welcome to episode #266 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! In this episode, we give our first impressions of season 2 reloaded, as it has been highly anticipated with some fan favorite remasters included, as well as following up with Blackout 2. Treyarch has continued to deliver good content for Black Ops 7, and the hope is that with Blackout 2 seeing instant success, this will drive more traffic to the multiplayer and change people’s view on the game. Along with this, we share thoughts on the game as it has changed over the years, and how the player base has evolved with it. Things such as 2v2 SnD matches, 1v1 sniper battles, and more used to be common, and now it seems players don’t want any of that. We close with some discussion on the CDL matches and team standings. We are coming down to the wire before Major 2 in Birmingham, and these matches are becoming more important as we draw closer. We give our thoughts on the current power rankings, and some predictions post Major 2. What do you think of season 2 reloaded overall? Are you happy with the new maps and remasters? Is this your first time playing the old maps, or do you already know your way around them? What do you think of Blackout 2 if you have played it? Are you more a battle royale player or multiplayer person in Call of Duty? Please let us know as we discuss this and much more! THE END OF CALL OF DUTY CREATORS? | BARSTOOL JOINS CDL? | The COD Casuals Ep. 263

Welcome to episode #263 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! In this episode, we cover the most recent CDL matches, as we are getting into the midst of the major 2 qualifiers, and there are some serious concerns with teams. We start with the Breach, and their struggles to get any wins against the mid pack, putting them in a dangerous spot to not be able to qualify for major 2. Lots of talks are around which players they need to drop and who to get, and we share our thoughts on what we think the teams need to do, and where they currently stand. Lots of teams have been taking chances on challengers players, and we have seen the benefit of this strategy, as well as seeing teams struggle when rotating new players in constantly. We cover the other teams that have made these moves and assess where they are at since the change. Have they improved or declined? Finally, we end with the news of legendary COD Youtuber Spratt announcing he is stepping away from COD content as he focuses on his family. This raises the discussion around old youtubers who have moved on, and is the current state of COD influencing them to call it quits? We cover our history with old youtubers and give some insight on the topic. What do you think are the next moves for the Breach? Do they need to make further changes, and if so, what are those changes? What other teams in your opinion need to make changes now before things get out of hand in the qualifiers? Finally, what do you think of the old COD content creators slowly retiring? Did you watch these guys back in the day, or did you miss that era of COD Youtube?  Please let us know as we discuss this and much more!
