    Week 21 | Golden Rulers (1995) This week, we’re in Week 21 of a series Darrell taught on the Sermon on the Mount in 1995 at Glendale Presbyterian Church in California.  In this sermon on Matthew 7:1–12, Darrell shows us how Jesus brings the Sermon on the Mount to its climax with the famous Golden Rule. He explains that Jesus’ teaching goes beyond simply avoiding harm and instead calls us to actively treat others the way we ourselves long to be treated. Along the way, Jesus warns against condemning others, calls us to help one another with humility, and reminds us that prayer is the antidote to a judgmental spirit. He reveals how Jesus’ teaching shows us that anxiety often grows out of three deep movements of the human heart: what we treasure, what we fix our attention on, and whom we ultimately serve. When our security is tied to temporary things, anxiety follows—but when our treasure, vision, and allegiance are centred on God, we discover real freedom.     Week 6 | On The First Day of The New World (2015) Today, we're completing a series of sermons from Darrell that correspond with Lent and the Easter season. It is called "The Theatre of Glory" and was delivered by Darrell in 2015 at First Baptist Church in Vancouver. In this Easter message from John 20:1–18, we listen as Darrell invites us into what he calls “the story of all stories.” Walking carefully through John’s resurrection account, Darrell shows how the first Easter morning is not simply the end of Jesus’ story, but the beginning of a whole new world.     Week 4 | It Is Finished (2015) We're in a series of sermons from Darrell that correspond with Lent and the Easter season. It is called "The Theatre of Glory" and was delivered by Darrell in 2015 at First Baptist Church in Vancouver. In this message from John 19:17–37, Darrell carefully walks us through the scene of the crucifixion and the moment Jesus declares, “It is finished.” Drawing our attention to the details John records, Darrell helps us see how the cross fulfills the whole story of Scripture—revealing Jesus as the true King, the great High Priest, and the Passover Lamb. As he unpacks the text, we’re invited to see the cross not simply as a tragic ending, but as the decisive moment where God’s saving work is completed and a new world begins. We're also excited to share that a new book from Darrell is being released on March 20. The book is titled It Is Finished: Meditations on the Death of Jesus. This short collection of reflections offers rich perspectives on the cross and the meaning of Jesus’ crucifixion.
