Ep. 238 - Static Shock - Brother Sister Act

As the calendar page turns and the weather gets colder, the Good Brothers head to the warm sunny skies of Dakota for a few weeks to review Static Shock and this week's episode "Brother Sister Act." The hosts enjoy a fun plot that revolves around a pair of siblings including Virgil's own sister Sharon and her being convinced that she's discovered his secret. In addition to a fun plot the hosts talk about some great visuals from the villains' powers being manifested, and a final battle that takes place in a basketball arena. Plus a break down of music, and a discussion on how the main villains' voice acting chemistry really plays into an emotional plot and effective twist on their motivation. All of this and a preview of next week's episode await you on this week's all new DCAU Review!

Ep. 237 - DCAU Character Spotlight - Metallo

Ep. 237 - DCAU Character Spotlight - Metallo

With the month coming to a close, the Good Brothers are packing their bags and getting ready to leave Metropolis for a bit, but before they leave they are shining a spotlight on one of the Man of Steel's most formidable foes in John Corbin aka Metallo. From his first appearance in the very first episode of Superman: The Animated Series to his appearances in Justice League and Justice League Unlimited Metallo left his mark on the DCAU and the hosts talk about each of those memorable appearances. In addition to his appearances, Cal and Liam also touch on how the brilliant Metallo theme from Lolita Ritmanis and Malcolm McDowell's unforgettable performance work together to create one of the most memorable characters in the DCAU. Plus the hosts also touch on his Superman Adventures appearances penned by a legendary comic book writer and his action figures as well. All of this and a preview of next week's episode await you on this week's all new DCAU Review!

Bonus Ep. 39 - Black Friday Special - Most Insane Kenner Batman The Animated Series Figures

Bonus Ep. 39 - Black Friday Special - Most Insane Kenner Batman The Animated Series Figures

Happy Holidays to you and yours from the DCAU Review! As has become tradition, the Good Brothers bring you their annual Black Friday Special with a new trip down memory lane to discuss what else but toys! This year the hosts focus on some of the most insane figures from the Kenner run of Batman: The Animated Series action figures. While the actual show on which the toys were based was a dark, gritty retro-inspired atmosphere, the toys followed no such theme. With bright colors, fantastic futuristic technology and mad-lib style names, Cal and Liam have plenty to discuss as they cover as few of the most egregious offenders in a celebration of the bizarre and surreal creations from the 90s Kenner line. Tune in and laugh along on this special Bonus Episode of the DCAU Review

Ep. 236 - STAS - Blasts From The Past Part II

Ep. 236 - STAS - Blasts From The Past Part II

The Good Brothers return for another Superman: The Animated Series review as they pick up where they left off last week with Part 2 of "Blasts from the Past." Hear the hosts discuss Emil Hamilton's naming of the "Fortress of Solitude", speculation on where the Earth's other heroes might have been during Jax-Ur and Mala's takeover, and a goosebump inducing moment for one of the hosts. Plus hear more of the boys' Emil Hamilton lore, where Hasbro missed out on making a scuba suit 4-pack and one of the hosts thinks the storyboard artists had the italicized lock on for the third act. Plus hear which plot points fall victim to the Mandela Effect for both Cal & Liam and hear a sneak peek at next week's Superman-themed DCAU Spotlight episode and much more await on this week's all new DCAU Review!

Ep. 235 - STAS - Blasts From The Past Part I

Ep. 235 - STAS - Blasts From The Past Part I

Come for the classic Superman: The Animated Series review, stay for the Emil Hamilton tan lore. That's right the tannest man in the DCAU is a hot topic of discussion once again as the Good Brothers review "Blasts From The Past Part I" on this week's episode. With such little STAS remaining, the hosts decide to give this two-parter a closer look by reviewing both episodes separately and providing a full episode score on next week's review of part 2. But this week the hosts still give their not-yet final scores for the same four categories, discussing the thin line between Superman being naive and being hopeful when it comes to trusting Mala in such a short amount of time. Plus how the DCAU handled the Phantom Zone versus how it was handled in the Donner Films, music from Kristopher Carter and a full break down of the voice cast await you on this week's all new DCAU Review!

If You’re A DCAU Fan You’ll Love This

I don’t know why it took me this long to actually write this review. The show is just great. The idea of reviewing every episode from plot, animation, music and voice acting is just brilliant. And it’s great to see the small community is growing larger by day. Good brothers, keep the good work
