Excellent

I’ve been a fan of this podcast for a while. I’ve bought and read at least two books based off of interviews he’s done; “Legion vs Phalanx,” and “Strategy Strikes Back.”

If you’re interested in strategy, military history, doctrine, planning, or dare I say it, Clausewitz, you really need to listen to this podcast. The final question always prompts very interesting answers and the interviews are excellent overall.

The Dead Prussian and Doctrine Man

The DP podcast is an excellent source of ideas for professional military officers. I strongly recommend it to all military professionals.

In my Army, “doing” is largely prized over “thinking.” Mick gives me hope that we can move beyond that paradigm.

Mick and Steve Leonard’s discussion of how DM became a phenom was particularly instructive and insightful. Mr. Leonard noted the difference between broadcasting opinions and/or ideas and actually having influence is at least a function of having humility as part of your character and motivation.

Thanks to Mick and his podcast for helping to build a “Culture of Military Thinking.”
