Kristian Manietta and Charlotte Paul cover all things training for endurance. More than just about racing. We show you that THE EVENT IS LIFE and that by having a long term development focus on health and being strong and fit allows you to seize opportunities that come on by. Fall in love with the process of getting the most from life and happiness is a pretty good by-product.
The Endurance Specific Podcast #19 – Set Them and Get Them Goals
Today we talk about setting and getting goals. We use a different framework than the typical SMART goals process.
Regardless of the system. We need to set them to get them. Goals that are set with commitment give us focus. As we speak about, your goals don't need to be for races just to train but we need goals and need to focus on whats the next step.
Goals and focus right now are really important to our mental health as well as our physical health.
The Endurance Specific Podcast #18 - What we CAN learn from Ants
Every single one of us is going to face challenges both big and small and even seemingly insurmountable.
And there are going to be a myriad of challenges you’re going to have to overcome in order to get anywhere near your ‘life’ potential.
There will be sacrifice challenges, there will be injury and health challenges, there will be life circumstance challenges, there will be motivational challenges, there will be many a mental challenge and the list will go on and on.
The challenges we are all facing right now can seem overwhelming.
The problem is that we’re probably the only organism on earth that truly seeks comfort. We prefer to look for ‘outs’ from the daily struggle instead of embracing it.
We need to lean into the struggles. Embrace them, learn from them and move through them.
If we look to nature – it’s glaringly obvious that life is not easy at all.
Life is HARD and that’s ok.
Nature can give us some great lessons. Today is a short podcast on what we can learn from ANTS.
The Endurance Specific Podcast #17 – I AM I CAN
Our biggest obstacle will always be ourselves, but we can get out of our own way by developing our belief systems through the process of I AM statements and WORK.
I won't lie... I bring the excitement in this podcast. I love this platform and I really want to use it to help you not only chase your dreams but achieve them.
So if you are looking to be more and finally get on the real path towards those dreamed about results. Listen now!
The Endurance Specific Podcast #16 – Vo2 Max, FTP BS and How Not to Fade
Today we are back talking the NO b******t ways to get good and stay good. We talk about misunderstanding Vo2Max... why focusing on increasing your FTP isn't your best focus and something way more important. How to not fade in the backend of racing.
All this also wrapped up in a listener question about developing muscular endurance.
The Endurance Specific Podcast #15 – Fascia, injuries and Beliefs with Claudia Sorensen
I recently got to speak with Claudia Sorensen all about fascia, our beliefs, and how injuries show up. We had a really fascinating conversation and if you've had recurring injuries this may shine some light on why (even if you've been doing all the rehab, the stretching, the rolling etc).
Claudia is a Structural integration Rolf Practitioner, an associated member of the Ortho-Bionomy, and a certified yoga instructor.
You can find Claudia at The Little White House in Vernon BC

The Endurance Specific Podcast #14 – Complexity is Not the Answer
We need to stop buying into complexity is the way. We see way too many people undervaluing simplicity.
Simple doesn’t make it easy.
But keeping things simple is the pathway to getting really good at endurance sports.
Today Charlotte and I give you the main simple and required things you must do if you care about improving. If you care about seeing what you can do.
The hard thing with simple. It gets rid of a lot of the excuses why you think you can’t get good.
The answer is simple, it just ain’t comfortable.
Playing Podcast Catchup
I’m a little late to the podcast world, but I’ve been in San Diego out of Melbourne, for a few decades, and around Triathlon. So your second show I listen to, is Bob Babbitt. We’re close in age, so I rack up near him in many races. You got everything about him so right, with the right questions. Bob probably thinks I’m stalking him, coz I FBd him yesterday. And yes, there is nothing wrong with sprints.
Good content poor audio quality
Dude listen to your own show. Learn how to mix audio. I’ve been listening for year but I can’t take poor mix since you came back. Fix the mix and you’ll have a listener again.
Out flipping standing!!!!
Christian is a easy listen and you can just hear he’s a good guy. This genuineness makes doing the hard work he recommends easy to do. Shared suckage is in his heart.
