Kristian Manietta and Charlotte Paul cover all things training for endurance. More than just about racing. We show you that THE EVENT IS LIFE and that by having a long term development focus on health and being strong and fit allows you to seize opportunities that come on by. Fall in love with the process of getting the most from life and happiness is a pretty good by-product.
The Endurance Specific Podcast #5 – Kevin Hodder
Today I sat down for a coffee and a chat with the race director of Eco-Challenge - The Worlds Toughest Race, Kevin Hodder.
Everything about this screams the ability to endure. Not just what the teams have to do, to finish this mammoth of a course but everything that goes into designing, testing, and gaining permission to do the course. It's huge.
We cover a lot in this podcast and much take-home advice that will help any endurance athlete and not those just interested in Adventure racing.

4. Till Schenk - 7 Everestings, 7 Days, 7 Countries
Today I have Till Schenk joining me and we talk about his recent Stupid 7 (that’s 7 everestings in 7 days in 7 countries… well that was the plans but like many things in 2020, Covid has made us both have to pivot but also persevere). But we speak about much more than that… one thing is for certain there is a lot of overcoming challenges.
If you’re a triathlete and have raced in Europe, you may have been announced by Till, his a Sports Announcer & Event MC, Storyteller, and Outdoor Lover. He lives in the beautiful cycling mecca of Girona.
And… so it turns out that Till and I are seemingly cut from the same cloth. You’ll see how easily he ropes me into a gooder of a winter challenge. We virtually shook hands on it, so it’s a done deal.
I loved this conversation with Till. His enthusiasm can definitely be felt. I trust you’ll enjoy it as much as I did.
Make sure you follow Till over on Instagram @TillSchenkLive

Endurance Specific Podcast - #2 The Answers Have Changed
Today's podcast is about how the answers have changed but they have also stayed the same.
2020 has been a challenging year, to say the least. Races around the world have been canceled and life as we have known it has changed.
And it’s a continual challenge on many fronts. No matter your personal beliefs and biases.
So today we unpack what “The Answers have Changed” means and how that impacts your training. Especially my addition that seemingly makes no sense “but they have also stayed the same”.
Endurance Specific Podcast - #1 Run Everesting
We are Back! Under a new brand name “The Endurance Specific Podcast” and Endurance Specific Coaching.
It’s good to be back and today Charlotte and I talk about my recent Run Everesting, in search of 8848 meters of elevation (and descent). I go about answering a bunch of questions that our athletes and followers asked plus delve a bit more into THE EVENT IS LIFE.
Enjoy and we’re excited to be back podcasting.
FB #279 - CBD For Athletes with Joanna Zeiger
Today I have Joanna Zeiger on the podcast talking all about CBD. Joanna was a pro athlete from 1998 to 2010. She was 4th in the first ever triathlon in the Olympics in Sydney and then 5 weeks later was 5th at the Ironman World Champs. In 2008 Joanna one the 70.3 World champs…
Joanna had a career-ending injury when a bottle handoff at the 2009 70.3 World Champs went horribly wrong. Joanna has been living with chronic pain ever since.
This led to Joanna eventually trying CBD (with a lot of coercing from her husband, as school had focused on all the potentially damaging effects of cannabis, and being a professional athlete, drugs were are no go zone… Something we go into in the podcast).
I’m super interested in the benefits of CBD… As we discuss it’s not for everyone and that’s ok. But there is a lot of information and miss information out there. So there are things you need to understand and this interview is a great starting place.

Playing Podcast Catchup
I’m a little late to the podcast world, but I’ve been in San Diego out of Melbourne, for a few decades, and around Triathlon. So your second show I listen to, is Bob Babbitt. We’re close in age, so I rack up near him in many races. You got everything about him so right, with the right questions. Bob probably thinks I’m stalking him, coz I FBd him yesterday. And yes, there is nothing wrong with sprints.
Out flipping standing!!!!
Christian is a easy listen and you can just hear he’s a good guy. This genuineness makes doing the hard work he recommends easy to do. Shared suckage is in his heart.
Bad medical advice!!
I like this podcast overall, but was livid listening to the garbage advice being given out by the unlicensed "nutritional therapy practitioner," Tiana Rochwell, about hormones, and in particular hormone-based birth control methods. I'm a licensed pharmacist and someone who publishes in women's health and I can tell you that much of what she shared was complete nonsense. She should really consider pulling an endocrinology textbook once in a while just to understand how the body actually works. Birth control pills do not make people have estrogen levels above what is physiologic. It's a negative feedback cycle! She said to switch to Nuva Ring to avoid systemic hormones. Wrong! I like Kristian and his wife very much and I like how they focus on training psychology and more natural methods, but please screen more carefully! Anyone giving medical advice (i.e. advising to stop birth control pills) like this should have the requisite training and should be a licensed practitioner in the field.
