I’ve been listening to The Explorers Podcast for nearly a decade, and it’s still one of my favorite shows.
Matt Breen has such a smooth, calming voice, and I often go back to older episodes as part of my wind-down routine before sleep. But what really makes the show stand out is the storytelling. Episodes are well researched, full of great detail, and each series feels thoughtfully put together.
In the summer of 2024, I reached out to ask if he might ever do a series on Roald Amundsen. I was pleasantly surprised when Matt wrote back and said it was already in the works. Sure enough, later that year he released a 10-episode Amundsen series, which became one of my all-time favorites.
I’ve supported the show over the years by buying merch, but I recently found the ad-free subscription through Airwave Media. It’s about $49 a year and covers their full podcast library, which feels like a great value — and a nice way to support work this good.
