Caroline Dooner hosts this relaxed podcast for chronic dieters, and discusses the dark side of dieting and the dogma of wellness culture, answers listener questions, and explains her method for getting out of the diet cycle. Beware: this podcast is *painfully* casual. Some would say ...disorganized. Some would say charming. Art is subjective. There will be lots of rambling. There will be lots of conversations with her dog. There was even a one year period why she didn't know why her microphone was so loud. But it WILL be free from diet culture. And it may even help a little.

Caroline is real

As a musician, I know fully that people are much more likely to register their criticism than their accolades so Caroline, listen up. Your book is tremendous. It has already helped countless people and every single day it helps countless more. You have received some criticism about the ways in which your podcast has elements of informality (your chatty style, your sweet doggo making her voice heard) but those elements are some of what I love about your podcast. I happen to find very packaged podcasts to be unappealing. For me, part of why I go to podcasts is to hear the thoughts of real people. I have no need for you to be a podcast expert. Your expertise in writing and dismantling diet culture is more than enough for me. If people don’t like you, they don’t have to listen to you. Freedom is beautiful. You owe us nothing. All that you have generously given is appreciated by many which is why I finally downloaded the Apple podcast app to write this review even though I exclusively use the Overcast app. Please snuggle Molly for me xoxo

Love it

Caroline’s podcast is smart, funny and conversational—listening feels like getting together with a friend for a chat. Some have complained about the interruptions from the dog but as far as I’m concerned, Molly is a part of her brand now. I love the little side convos.

Additionally, the sound of Caroline’s voice is so lovely! I’ve been turned off podcasts because I can’t deal with the host’s voice but that’s not a problem here.

More importantly, Caroline is incredibly smart and has life-changing advice for anyone who is ready to change their relationship with food. Listen here and listen to her book, too!

One of my faves

Caroline’s awesome podcast is the reason I discovered her take on intuitive eating (which has been a very helpful take for me, physically and emotionally). I have since read her book, which is also awesome. I enjoy the laid-back and humorous approach of her podcast combined with excellent content about not letting diet culture ruin your life. She’s the voice I return to the most often to encourage me on my un-dieting journey, and I’m always excited to see a new podcast of hers pop up. Thanks for doing what you do, Caroline!
