I learn something new each week
Each Thursday a new podcast comes out. I can’t remember where I first learned of Brian Barnett, but sometimes I find him more helpful than marital therapy. While I haven’t been diagnosed as borderline, I can certainly relate to depression, anxiety and instability in myself and in others around me who are important to me. Learning some valuable skills.
Do NOT listen to this man
This podcast is poison. I tried to listen but the false information he spews is toxic. If you truly want to deal with BPD effectively, contact a trained professional. Don’t subject yourself to these falsehoods.
A Life Saver
I Am Not a Car. Season 3 episode 1 is incredibly powerful and reviews lots of the fundamentals. For me as I listen, it’s like tectonic plates shifting in my understanding of myself and my place in the world. I was so moved and responded with affirmations and exclamations as I listened. A few days later, I had a call from my son who is struggling with his emotions after the loss of his dad, my husband, last year. After a nearly 3 hour conversation, I convinced him to listen to that one episode. I followed up with him a few days later and he recognized a perceptible shift within himself. Things were clicking and he was starting to figure some stuff out. He’s listening to other episodes and made an appointment with a therapist. I know Brian Barnett is saving both of our lives.
