Disturbing story told by fantastic journalist
The content of this story is both interesting and disturbing but Josh does a wonderful job of being empathetic yet objective while interviewing the victims and laying out the information he has.
Josh Bloch is a really talented journalist and story teller. I will be awaiting his next report. Thank you for providing a compassionate and thoughtful response to really tough topics.
My parents sent me to one of these programs around the time that Daniel disappeared and I have spent years grappling with it. Many kids ran from the institution that I attended, especially during the propheets (called workshops where I was a resident, but identical to what is described by CEDU survivors, and also run by a former CEDU higher-up). Two have never been found. The institution shutdown after former residents actively disseminated information about the school’s practices online and informed parents stopped sending their kids there. I greatly benefitted from listening to this series. Thank you for shinning a little more sunlight on an industry that has thrived in darkness and on misinformation.
