The Mind Solution Podcast

Sara Maude

If you are tired of rolling out wellbeing initiatives and nothing is changing, this podcast is for you. This podcast is for business leaders, HR, learning and development, and wellbeing managers who are serious about reducing burnout, improving performance, and creating workplaces that work, not just look good on paper. If your organisation has invested in training, tools, and programmes, yet stress levels remain high and resilience initiatives fail to move the needle, this podcast challenges why. Each episode dismantles the assumption that stress and burnout are caused by workload, roles, or external pressure. Instead, it points to what is shaping human experience from the inside out, and why, without this understanding, even the best wellbeing strategies stall. Grounded in neuroscience, consciousness, self-awareness, and nervous system insight, this podcast offers a fundamentally different foundation for workplace wellbeing and performance, one that creates real, measurable change rather than short-term fixes. Hosted by Sara Maude, a former HR leader with experience across British Airways Holidays, Virgin Atlantic, Debenhams, and the NHS. With over 14 years of delivering resilience and wellbeing training, and more than 5,000 one-to-one sessions, Sara brings rare clarity into what drives behaviour, resilience, and sustainable change at work. If you want impact, not initiatives, you will recognise this conversation.

Why Self Awareness is The New Super Power in The Workplace

Why Self Awareness is The New Superpower in The Workplace We like to believe that we're in control of our lives — that we're consciously choosing how we respond, what we think, how we behave. But here's the truth: more than 95% of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are driven by unconscious conditioned responses. And if you can't see those responses? You can't change them. That's why self-awareness isn't a nice-to-have — it's a superpower. It's the only way to interrupt those automatic patterns that keep you in emotional loops like anxiety, self-doubt, and impostor syndrome. And it's the first step toward real, sustainable change. The unconscious mind isn't just the brain — it's your body. We often think of the unconscious as this mysterious part of the mind. But in reality, your body is the unconscious mind. Your nervous system — shaped by years of emotional conditioning — has memorised how to live in states like fear, stress, or low self-worth. And your brain? It listens. It creates thoughts that match the body's baseline emotions. That's how you get caught in the "thinking–feeling loop": A thought triggers a feeling, the feeling reinforces the thought, and over time, it becomes your default. This is why people say "I've always been an anxious person" or "This is just who I am." But that's not true. You are not your anxiety. You are not your insecurity. What you're experiencing is the residue of past emotional conditioning, not your identity. I've worked with hundreds of people who've felt trapped in cycles of anxiety, exhaustion, and self-doubt, despite trying everything: medication, EAPs, CBT, and talking therapy. The reason it hasn't worked? Because talking about your problems often keeps you stuck in the same mental-emotional loop. You're rehearsing the problem, not rewiring the response. Real transformation happens somatically, not just cognitively. The future of workplace wellbeing isn't more advice. It's not more surface-level mental health campaigns. It's a shift toward somatic, neuroscience-backed tools that help your people recondition their emotional baseline. That's why I'm so passionate about introducing cymatic practices like: EFT tapping (Emotional Freedom Technique) Energy psychology Quantum flow and breath-based emotional release tools These aren't abstract theories — they're practical tools we teach in real time during our employee wellbeing webinars. And the results are instant. I've seen employees go from feeling overwhelmed to regulated in under 10 minutes. I've watched physical symptoms dissolve after just a few rounds of tapping. And every time, I hear the same words: "What just happened? I feel completely different." That's the power of rewiring the nervous system. Self-awareness is essential for employee wellbeing and personal development. When your people understand what's really driving their stress, anxiety, or reactivity, everything shifts. Because now they have agency. Now they can interrupt the pattern instead of being hijacked by it. They can respond with clarity instead of reacting with fear. They can show up with confidence, calm, and presence — because they're no longer at the mercy of outdated emotional conditioning. And here's the best part: this is their natural state. Feelings like calm, joy, connection, and stability — these aren't things we need to manufacture. They're already within us. But the nervous system has to be taught how to return there. That's the work we do. We teach your employees how to come back to who they really are. Not the version running on autopilot. The version that's conscious, regulated, and empowered. Because when people learn how to self-regulate, when they stop outsourcing their power, when they feel emotionally safe in their own bodies — the ripple effect on workplace performance is profound. So if you're a leader, a wellbeing manager, or someone who knows your team is capable of so much more — let's talk. Ready to create real-time transformation in your workplace?
