How can our society effectively support transgender individuals and also protect vulnerable adolescents who feel social pressure to make irreversible changes to their bodies? Blanket bans on medical interventions are certainly not the answer, and neither is rushing treatment and refusing to discuss potential issues. This podcast contributes to the nuanced dialogue we sorely need.

Relationscapes

It's clear the reporter went into this podcast with the same trans-skeptic stance the NYT has increasingly bolstered over the past decade. If you're interested in the latest and best biology and psychology regarding gender identity you won't find it here. Ironically, many reviewers here seem to think this show is supportive of trans identities. I think they must not have listened very carefully.

I’m about to write a piece about gender affirming care under Trump and listened to the series as part of my research. I found myself changing my personal views throughout the episodes, which I consider a good thing. A good piece of journalism makes the reader/listener think. This is especially true of this subject. Kudos to the editing team, too.
