201: Trusting God When You Can't See the Plan | Faith, Purpose & Leaving the Safe Road with Lisa

What does it look like to say yes to God even when it makes zero sense? In this powerful episode of The Purpose Effect, host Alesha sits down with Lisa — a mom of four, grandmother of nine, and all-natural ingredient specialist — whose story will challenge everything you think you know about faith, purpose, and trusting God in the deep seasons. Lisa shares how a painful divorce and clinical depression in 2008–2009 led her to an intimate, life-changing encounter with God — one that included audible conversations, supernatural healing, and a radical call to leave a successful 18-year corporate career with no backup plan. In this episode, you'll hear: How spending 8–15 hours a day in God's presence healed Lisa's heart and transformed her life What it means when God calls you into the "deep" — and why that's actually a gift How fear disguises itself as wisdom and keeps you stuck Why your purpose will always be bigger than you — and that's the point How God speaks through dreams, visions, and supernatural encounters The power of saying yes to God even when it's hard, scary, or doesn't make sense If you've ever felt God nudging you toward something that seems impossible, this episode is for you. Whether you're in a wilderness season, questioning your calling, or just beginning your faith walk, Lisa's story is a reminder that God is faithful, He is the provision, and He never wastes a single step of your journey. 🎙️ Subscribe so you never miss an episode of The Purpose Effect 📲 Share this episode with someone who needs to hear it 🎧 Available on YouTube, iTunes, Spotify, and Pandora Learn more about your ad choices. Wahoo 100 Episodes! How God Transforms Ordinary Lives Into Purpose-Driven Journeys

We made it to 100 episodes! 🎉 In this milestone celebration, hosts Alesha and David take a look back at how The Purpose Effect was born — from a chance meeting at a Vegas conference to a five-day stay on 76 acres in South Dakota — and how God orchestrated every step of it. In this episode, we get raw and real about what it truly means to live a life of purpose — not the lukewarm, Sunday-morning-only kind of faith, but an actively pursued, deeply intentional relationship with Jesus Christ. We talk about spiritual growth, leaving people behind as you evolve, the danger of false idols (yes, including money), and why the American Church has often missed the mark. Whether you've been with us since Episode 1 or just found us today, this episode is a powerful reminder that you were created for more — and that God is always doing something bigger than you can see. 199: Growth, Grieving and Resilience

In episode 199 of The Purpose Effect, host David Rosenfeldt opens up about a bittersweet season of life where deep growth, grief, and resilience are all happening at once. Fresh off shoulder surgery and reflecting on more than a decade of personal transformation—weight loss, lifestyle change, and spiritual awakening—David shares how God has continually invited him to grow, not just physically and emotionally, but spiritually. He talks about: Being told he’s “a different person every decade” and why he now receives that as a compliment Discovering new tools in his faith journey: grace, joy, and a personal relationship with the Lord As his life and priorities shift, some of David’s long-standing relationships are changing or fading. He candidly processes the grief of realizing that old friendships built around past lifestyles don’t always fit a purpose-driven, Christ-centered life. Grounded in Scripture, he unpacks: Proverbs 13:20 – “Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise…” 1 Corinthians 15:33 – “Bad company ruins good morals.” David is careful not to condemn or label old friends as “fools,” but he acknowledges he’s raised his standards and now needs to surround himself with people who nourish his spiritual growth and share a desire to seek the Lord and walk in the light. He names the tension of: Loving people deeply while choosing not to spend as much time in environments that don’t support his purpose Grieving the change in kinship without declaring those relationships dead Remembering that God often reconnects people in new seasons when there’s still a purpose in the relationship From his past experience with addiction and quitting drugs to today’s spiritual transformation, David explains why other people can feel judged or uncomfortable when you change and they don’t—even when you aren’t judging them. That discomfort can create distance, and it’s okay (and necessary) to grieve that. The final movement of the episode centers on resilience: Getting back up after hard days, physical pain, emotional setbacks, and disappointment Building a new daily routine of Scripture, prayer, and gratitude Choosing a perspective of accomplishment and thankfulness instead of defeat Seeing Bible study as a lifetime endeavor, where familiar passages take on new meaning as your perspective and maturity grow David describes the indescribable peace and joy he’s tasting in this season—“better than any drug or adrenaline rush”—and compares it to the moment a parent first meets their child: you don’t really understand it until you’ve experienced it. He encourages listeners to: Accept that growth is uncomfortable, non-linear, and sometimes isolating Allow themselves to grieve changing relationships without shame Lean into resilience by starting each day on the foundation of faith, joy, and gratitude Trust that God will bring the right people for the right season as you pursue your purpose As the podcast approaches its 100th episode, David reflects on the diligence and resilience it’s taken to stay faithful to this calling and expresses deep gratitude to listeners and the team behind the scenes. He closes with an invitation: if this conversation about growth, grieving, and resilience speaks to you, connect with The Purpose Effect—like, subscribe, share—and, above all, seek your own relationship with God. 197: Stop Carrying the rocks! Perspective, Purpose and my journey

What burdens are you carrying that God never intended for you to bear? In this episode of The Purpose Effect, David Rosenfeldt shares a deeply personal reflection on recovering from shoulder surgery, navigating business challenges, and learning to release emotional and spiritual burdens to God. Inspired by a powerful exercise at a Rise Leadership retreat, David explains how the "rocks" we carry represent past wounds, fear, anxiety, guilt, and the need to control everything ourselves. Through Scripture, personal stories, and practical examples, he explores how faith allows us to exchange heavy burdens for God's peace. This episode discusses: Learning to let go of emotional baggage Finding purpose through life's challenges Psalm 55:22 and Matthew 11:28-30 Recovering from childhood wounds Growing in faith instead of religion Living with integrity when no one is watching Protecting what you consume mentally and spiritually Discovering peace through gratitude, perspective, and purpose If you're feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or carrying burdens that seem too heavy, this message is for you.
