    We look at those helping develop our match officials off the pitch in our Developing the Developers (Novice) mini-series. Assessors, coaches, performance reviewers, mentors... the names are many, but so are the skills that we need to make sure that we're adding as much value to the match officials as possible. Dusty and John Widdowson have knowledge of supporting human development. In this episode they consider what an interaction might look like when two humans who have no knowledge of human development share a conversation about an experience - in this case, two different refereeing environments.

Assessors, coaches, performance reviewers, mentors... the names are many, but so are the skills that we need to make sure that we're adding as much value to the match officials as possible. In this episode, Dusty and John consider that throughout our lives we will have used listen, consider and reply as part of our interactions and communication with those around us and based on the fact that we have received a response, can easily assume that these function effectively. This could be the opportunity to consider what these currently look like and as with the “Who am I” episode, raise an awareness bringing things from our unconscious to our conscious thinking. Listening is often associated with our ears, but have you ever considered the role of our eyes in this process?

    We look at those helping develop our match officials off the pitch in our Developing the Developers (Novice) mini-series. Assessors, coaches, performance reviewers, mentors... the names are many, but so are the skills that we need to make sure that we're adding as much value to the match officials as possible. In this episode, we explore the concept of connection. The obvious connection may not always be the deepest connection, whilst Dusty and John were both employed at England Rugby, however the they had both served in the Royal Navy, whilst at different times, there was a shared experience and journey. This connection offers an opportunity for healthy debate and to a have a different view.

In this episode, we look at "Who am I?". Dusty and John discuss exploring how lived experience is brought to the conscious whilst being aware of the world around us. By doing this and by being more aware of the world around us it can mean that we may have a greater awareness of the changes in us and how this may influence our interactions and communication with others.
