The Stakes with Virginia Leaders Hala Ayala and Natalie Lucas-Shorter

Natalie Louise Lucas-Shorter and Hala Ayala joined Tara Setmayer this week for a lively conversation about the big ballot-measure WIN in Virginia! Organizing with organizations like the Black Women's Leadership Collective, Hala and Natalie were instrumental in getting a Democratic plan to allow them to redraw the state congressional map for the remainder of the decade — part of the partisan battle over redistricting happening in several states ahead of the 2026 midterm election. The proposed map would give Democrats a chance at winning 10 of Virginia’s 11 congressional districts, a dramatic shift from the current 6-5 split in the Virginia House delegation. ********************************************************************** The Seneca Project is one of the few groups unafraid to stand our ground, and we cannot continue this fight without you.
