    111. How Bodyworkers Can Explain Pain (with Lorimer Moseley)

    111. How Bodyworkers Can Explain Pain (with Lorimer Moseley)

🎙️Twelve years ago, Lorimer Moseley’s TEDx talk “Why Things Hurt” helped to catalyze profound changes in how pain is conceptualized, in our field and in many others. If we think about pain as protection, rather than as damage, it changes how we explain the improvements we see in hands-on work. Professor Moseley joins Til and Whitney to update us on his thinking, and to offer bodyworks and massage therapists practical advice on working with our clients with pain.🔍🗣️👥🔊

Good brain stimulation and fun!

As a career massage therapist and bodyworker I enjoy every episode of this show. They make me think about what am I really doing and what do I think I’m doing. It also raises questions about what I was told I was doing when I went to massage school and what I told others we were doing when I taught at massage schools in comparison to what research says is likely happening.

Highly recommended, especially as most of my clients don’t know or care about the science of massage, this show keeps me in tune with that after a day of providing that Zen space for my clients

naturebodyconnection ,

Wonderful podcast!

It is refreshing to hear thoughtful, intelligent conversations in the field of massage. Til and Whitney are friendly, compassionate and fun to listen to. Thank you both for putting your hard work into this podcast! Beautiful job.
