Fat Girl Therapy 40: A Look at Fame, Food, and Finding Balance

Fat Girl Therapy 40: A Look at Fame, Food, and Finding Balance

Have you ever watched a child star grow up in the limelight and wondered about the emotional toll it takes on them? This episode peels back the curtain on Jojo Siwa's journey from kid sensation to adult artist, while musing on the paths tread by the likes of Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears. We venture into the dicey terrain of public image and discuss the intense scrutiny and pitfalls that accompany fame from a young age. Brit Smith's recent backlash and the darker side of child stardom, including the mistreatment of young actors, are also put under the microscope.

Life is a series of unexpected twirls, much like my morning tango with an argument that reinforced the value of boundaries. Reflecting on the whirlwind of turning 40, I ponder over the struggle with food choices and the resolve to forge ahead with a healthy plan, laced with self-compassion. The culinary journey doesn't stop there; we embark on a quest to invigorate our taste buds with new foods—think the zesty kick of kimchi and the rich complexity of Indian cuisine—while juggling dietary goals and budget constraints.

Parenting, a realm of boundless love and challenges, comes alive with tales of Harper's park escapades and the rollercoaster of toddler emotions. And as we navigate the delicate topic of body image and fitness aspirations, I share an empowering narrative of embracing our physical self with confidence. Join us for this sincere and enlightening exploration, brimming with personal anecdotes, hearty laughs, and candid insights into the many facets of life's grand adventure.
