    Episode 41: Finding Joy

    Episode 41: Finding Joy

In 2015, Kate Bowler was diagnosed with stage IV cancer. She was 35. “The chronic nature of what I had really lent itself to people wanting to openly explain why I was suffering. Was it something I ate? Was it something I did spiritually? Like, who’s at fault here? You know, maybe everything doesn’t happen for a reason.”
Today, she says, “One of the only things that really cuts through all the noise is surprising and ridiculous joy.”
She’s the author of Everything Happens For A Reason: And Other Lies I’ve Loved and No Cure for Being Human (And Other Truths I Need to Hear).

Phoebe!!!!

She could read me the newspaper. She’s made me feel every emotion with her stories. I’m such a fan. Love criminal too!!! Sadly I binge all her shows and I always get caught up, but I eagerly await each new episode.

Phoebe is the best

I listen to so much trash and bad news and this is like a breath of fresh air. I honestly would listen to anything Phoebe hosts no matter the subject. I find her voice so calming and kind. I love that you can hear her listening. I love the pauses before she speaks. I wish Phoebe would do a sleep story on the calm app!

Phoebe is medicine

After avoiding covid and being double vaxed the rona finally caught up with me. Never been so sick can’t sit still or sleep more then 5 minutes. The only thing that soothes me is phoebes voice. I prefer this is love over criminal usually it’s Vice versa but something about the warmth of the message is exactly what I need
