    Ep 280 - SERMON - Truly: What are you looking at—and are your eyes fixed on Jesus or the things of this world? John 1:29–51

    What are you looking at—and are your eyes fixed on Jesus or the things of this world? John the Baptist's message was simple: "Behold the Lamb of God." His life was never about drawing attention to himself but about pointing others to Jesus. Throughout John 1, Jesus repeatedly invites people to "Come and see" and "Follow Me." Those who respond discover far more than where Jesus is staying—they see the glory of God revealed in the Son.   Like the first disciples, we are often tempted to fix our eyes on our circumstances, fears, relationships, careers, or the brokenness around us. But Jesus calls us to lift our eyes above the distractions of this world and behold Him. As we follow Christ, we see God's glory, experience His grace, and are transformed to point others to Him.   John the Baptist's message was simple: "Behold the Lamb of God."   Jesus' invitation is just as clear: ➡️ "Come and see." ➡️ "Follow Me."   The question isn't what you're looking at—it's who you're looking to. When we fix our eyes on Jesus instead of our circumstances, fears, or the distractions of this world, we see the glory of God and find the hope, grace, and life only He can give.   Gospel Response:   Will you come and see... and then go and tell?   Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world and the Son of God who reveals the glory of the Father. Through His perfect life, sacrificial death, and victorious resurrection, He opened the way for us to know God and receive eternal life. The invitation of the gospel is still the same today: Come and see. Follow Jesus. Believe in Him.     Are you looking to Jesus—and do you believe He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world? When religious leaders asked John the Baptist, “Who are you?” John refused to make himself the focus. Instead, he humbly pointed everyone to Jesus. John understood that his identity, purpose, and ministry were not about gaining recognition but about preparing the way for Christ. His testimony declared, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”   The people were searching for a Messiah who would rescue them from their circumstances and free them from Rome, but Jesus came to provide the rescue they needed most—freedom from sin. He is not a weak or defeated Lamb; He is the victorious Lamb, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who conquered sin, Satan, and death through His sacrifice and resurrection.   Like John the Baptist, our lives and testimonies should point away from ourselves and toward Jesus. We may never fully see the impact of our faithfulness, but God sees how every prayer, act of service, gospel conversation, and step of obedience fits into His greater story. The question is not simply whether we know who Jesus is but whether we believe—and whether that belief transforms how we see ourselves, our purpose, and the world around us.   Gospel Response: Jesus is the Son of God and the Lamb of God who came to take away the sin of the world. He lived the perfect life we could not live, died the death we deserved, and rose from the grave so that we can be forgiven, made righteous, and given new life. Through His sacrifice, Jesus defeated sin, Satan, and death and secured eternal victory for everyone who believes.   Stop looking to people, success, money, comfort, or the things of this world to save or satisfy you. Look to Jesus. Believe that He is who Scripture says He is, trust in His finished work, and allow that truth to transform your identity and purpose.     Ep 278 - SERMON - Truly: What is truth? John 1:1-18

    What is truth? In a world filled with competing voices, opinions, and shifting definitions, Jesus doesn't simply teach truth—He is Truth. The One who spoke creation into existence is still speaking life today. The Creator who breathed life into the world is breathing new life into all who receive Him. He doesn't just improve broken lives—He recreates them. Will you reject Him like so many did... or receive Him and become a child of God?   Key Truths: 🌿 Jesus is the eternal Creator and fully God. Before creation began, Jesus existed with the Father and is Himself God. Everything was created through Him, and all creation is sustained by Him. 🌿 Jesus is the Truth that every other truth must be built upon. Our answers to life's biggest questions depend on the foundational truth of who Jesus is—not on culture, opinions, or personal feelings. 🌿 The Creator is recreating what sin has broken. The same God who breathed life into creation now breathes new spiritual life into those who trust Christ through the Holy Spirit. 🌿 Jesus is the Light that overcomes darkness. Darkness cannot overcome His light. He exposes sin, reveals truth, and leads people into life. 🌿 Everyone must respond to Jesus. Like those in John's Gospel, we all have a choice: reject Him or receive Him. Those who receive Christ by faith become children of God. 🌿 Truth is found in a Person, not merely a principle. Christianity is not believing in belief, good works, or religion—it is trusting in Jesus Christ alone.   Gospel Response: What truths are shaping your life—and do they lead you to Jesus? Jesus is not merely a teacher of truth—He is the Truth. The eternal Son of God entered our broken world, lived the perfect life we could never live, died the death we deserved, and rose again so that everyone who believes in Him can receive new life. The Creator who spoke the universe into existence now recreates hearts through His grace. You are not saved by your effort, your religion, or even the strength of your faith—you are saved by Jesus alone.     Will you pursue lasting contentment in Christ, or keep chasing the temporary "filthy scraps" of this world?   Key Truths: 📌 Contentment is not a feeling—it is learned by trusting Christ's sufficiency in every circumstance. Paul rejoiced because Christ was enough, not because his circumstances improved. 📌 Your emotions reveal what you're believing. If your feelings don't align with God's truth, don't ignore them—trace them back to the beliefs and desires driving them. Roots always produce fruit. 📌 "Filthy scraps" are anything you pursue more than Christ for satisfaction. Whether obvious sins like money, status, and pleasure or subtle idols like nostalgia, anything that replaces Christ will ultimately leave you discontent. 📌 Anxiety often grows from two thoughts: "I don't want to lose this" and "I need more of this." The more we cling to worldly treasures, the more anxiety we create. 📌 Cast your anxieties on God by bringing Him into your thoughts. Instead of dwelling on fear alone, begin with "Oh Lord..." and pray your anxieties back to God, allowing His presence to reshape your perspective. 📌 Contentment is not complacency. Contentment finds peace in what God has given while continuing to pursue Christ. Complacency settles for less than what God desires. 📌 Contentment is a direction, not a destination. It is a lifelong pursuit of Christ, not a place you eventually arrive and remain. 📌 God's character is your anchor during tragedy. When suffering comes, remember who God is and how He has faithfully carried you in the past. The cross proves His love even when you don't understand your circumstances. 📌 Daily disciplines cultivate biblical contentment. Prayer, meditating on Scripture, gratitude, healthy boundaries with technology, fasting, journaling, and authentic Christian community help redirect your heart toward Christ. 📌 Contentment grows through intentional obedience. Determine where you're discontent, discern the root, define your identity in Christ, discover God's truth with others, and depend completely on Him. 📌 Only Christ can satisfy the God-shaped hole in your soul. Every "filthy scrap" promises peace but cannot deliver what only Jesus can provide. 📌 Humble heroes fight for contentment by pursuing Christ over the world. As believers reject Satan's lies and embrace Christ's sufficiency, they become lights that push back the darkness around them.   Gospel Response: Jesus has already done everything necessary to make you His own. Because of His death and resurrection, you have a new identity, a new purpose, and the power of the Holy Spirit to live differently. Live up—not by striving for God's approval, but by living from the victory Christ has already won.     "When you don't have the job, the health, the money, or the answers—you still have Jesus. And He is enough." Will I find contentment by changing my circumstances, or by trusting that Christ is sufficient in every circumstance?   Key Truths: The world teaches us that contentment comes from having more—more comfort, more control, more success, or more security. But Paul reminds us in Philippians 4 that true contentment is learned, not achieved. Despite prison, persecution, rejection, and hardship, Paul discovered that Christ was enough. Contentment is not complacency or passivity; it is finding the strength of Christ in every circumstance and trusting God's provision, purpose, and presence regardless of what we face.   📌 Contentment is not Christ changing your circumstances; it is finding Christ sufficient in your circumstances. 📌 True contentment is learned through trusting God in every season, not achieved by gaining more. 📌 Christ-sufficiency, not self-sufficiency, is the source of lasting contentment. 📌 God often works through people and circumstances, not around them. 📌 Contentment is not complacency, laziness, or passivity—it is Christ's strength empowering us to faithfully engage every circumstance. 📌 The lies of Satan produce bitterness, fear, and isolation, but God's truth produces joy, purpose, and perseverance. 📌 We may not always receive the circumstances we want, but we always receive the presence of Christ. 📌 Contentment is an internal response of faith to an external circumstance.   Gospel Response: Jesus entered our broken world, endured suffering, carried our sin, died on the cross, and rose again so that we could have life in Him. The gospel does not promise perfect circumstances, but it does promise the presence of Christ. Because of Jesus, we can face every trial, temptation, and hardship knowing that He is with us, He is for us, and He is enough.     Will I allow my circumstances to define my identity, or will I let God's truth transform who I am so it changes what I do? Truth transforms who we are, and who we are changes what we do. When our identity is rooted in Christ, we can learn contentment, overcome fear and temptation, and live out God's calling with confidence.   What if your greatest struggle is actually God's training ground for your greatest purpose? Too often we let our circumstances, failures, fears, or insecurities define who we are. But God's Word reminds us that our identity is not found in what we've done—it's found in Christ. Truth transforms who we are, and who we are changes what we do.   When we know we are children of God, we can stop living like victims of our circumstances and start living out the calling God has placed on our lives. Through prayer, Scripture, fasting, rest, and daily dependence on Him, God teaches us contentment and equips us to make an impact for His kingdom. You have a purpose. You have a calling. And God is still at work in your story.   Gospel Response: What lie have you been believing about yourself, and what would change if you fully embraced who God says you are in Christ?   Jesus lived the life we could not live, died the death we deserved, and rose again so that we could be forgiven, transformed, and empowered for God's purposes. Because of Christ, we are no longer defined by fear, failure, temptation, or circumstances. We are called children of God, equipped by the Holy Spirit, and sent into the world with purpose.     Ep 274 - SERMON - Live Up: Will I let my pain, sin, and struggles define me, or will I see myself through God's truth and step into the purpose He has for me? Philippians

    Will I let my pain, sin, and struggles define me, or will I see myself through God's truth and step into the purpose He has for me? God can use anyone, but He chose you. Your story is not defined by what you've lost or what you've been through—it is defined by what Christ is doing in you and through you.   In this message, we are challenged to reframe our role in God's story. Too often, we view ourselves as victims of our circumstances or villains defined by our failures. But through Christ, God calls His people to live as victorious servants who overcome through His power.   Using examples like David facing Goliath, Gideon hiding in fear, Joseph enduring betrayal, and Paul persevering through suffering, the sermon reminds us that God does not waste our pain. The hardships, failures, and wounds of our past can become the training ground for God's future purpose in our lives. Pain that becomes permanent produces bitterness, but pain surrendered to God can produce purpose.   Satan seeks to define us by our struggles, insecurities, addictions, failures, and wounds. But Scripture declares a different identity. Believers are forgiven, free, empowered by the Holy Spirit, chosen by God, and called to good works that He prepared in advance for them. God didn't randomly choose someone to accomplish His purposes—He intentionally chose you.   Because Christ has already defeated the enemy, believers no longer have to cower in fear. Instead, they are called to rise up, walk in their God-given identity, and bring light into the darkness by serving others, carrying burdens, sharing the gospel, and helping others find freedom and healing.   Gospel Response: Jesus has already won the victory. Through His death and resurrection, He defeated sin, death, and Satan. If you belong to Christ, your identity is no longer found in your past, your pain, or your failures. You are forgiven, free, empowered, and called by God for His purposes. Stop believing the enemy's lies and start believing God's truth.     Ep 273 - SERMON - Live Up: What lies from Satan are shaping your thoughts, and are you replacing them with God's truth? Philippians 4:9

    You can replace Satan's lies with God's truth because God's Word and God's power are greater than any lie the enemy can speak over your life. What lies from Satan are shaping your thoughts, and are you replacing them with God's truth? In Philippians 4:9, Paul challenges believers to follow what they have learned, received, heard, and seen in him. This sermon focused on how Paul overcame the lies Satan used to attack his identity, calling, and confidence. Though Paul faced accusations about his past, insecurities about his weaknesses, and doubts about his worthiness, he consistently replaced those lies with God's truth.   Many believers struggle with similar lies: "I can't change." "I shouldn't change." "I will never change." "I can't control my thoughts." "My feelings determine truth." "God's Word isn't enough." 📌 Reveal the thought and bring it into the light. 📌 Repent of how the lie has affected you, others, and your relationship with God. 📌 Resist Satan by filling your mind with Scripture and surrounding yourself with God's people. 📌 Remind yourself daily of God's truth until new pathways of thinking are formed.   Just as trails are formed by repeatedly walking the same path, our minds develop patterns. God's truth creates new paths that lead toward freedom, peace, and victory in Christ rather than fear, shame, insecurity, or pride.   Gospel Response: Jesus didn't come simply to help us think better—He came to rescue us from the power of sin and lies. Because of Christ's death and resurrection, Satan no longer has authority over those who belong to Him. The gospel reminds us that our identity is not defined by our past failures, our feelings, or the lies we believe, but by what Christ has done for us.   Bow before Jesus today.
