Finding Our Own Representation - P!nk
Trans representation (and rep for people from all marginalized communities) is sparse, and when it does happen it's often harmful. And so we have to look elsewhere to see ourselves reflected in our media, and that's what finding our own representation is all about. And we're going to discuss a very personal and meaningful bit of art I've found my own representation in, P!nk. And that involves me spilling my soul and feeling really exposed, so... hope you're ready for that! We're joined by Melissa Hearne to discuss what being genderfluid means to them, how being us helps others be themselves, and how you can wake up each day and just be whatever you want to be.

The False Dichotomy
So what the heck is the false dichotomy? It's opposing options that are presented as the ONLY options, it permeates absolutely every part of our society, and it harms all of us, even cis people. But don't buy into it! Life doesn't fit into neat little boxes, nor should it. Library Girl Mina Martinez Oldham joins us again, and we also discuss the importance of being seen and how playing is part of experimenting... and also cute non-binary librarians, culinary cruelty, and how trans women go where no man has gone before. Oh, also? I'm sunshine!

Trans Intersectionality
Intersectionality! It's vital for every marginalized community, including us trans folks. But guess what? It doesn't (and can't) only apply to us, and people from other marginalized communities need US to be intersectional, too. We don't need to hurt others just to stand up for ourselves. We're joined by the Library Girl, Mina Martinez Oldham, to remind you that you support people from other marginalized communities is by listening to them, and believing them... just like we need cis people to do for us. You're also gonna learn how eggs recognize eggs, how coming out never ends, and how my breasts are perfect (listen, they just are).

Trans Body Hacking
Body hacking?! You better believe it. And we all do it, trans and cis alike. Learn all about it and gain a better understanding of how we're all really more alike than you might think. We're again joined by Jack Knoxville of the Trans Empowerment Project, and we're here to remind you there's no roadmap to transition. Everyone's on their own journey, and yours is valid whatever it may be. And hey, you also get to learn about capes and Spider-Man, and how I very much like being alive!

False Allyship
What happens when allies aren't allies? What happens when their allyship is only performative? And what happens when it goes a step further, and becomes not just performative but also outright transphobic? You're gonna find out! We're joined by Jack Knoxville of the Trans Empowerment Project, and talk about clothing swaps, how being called on your bigotry is not equal to your actual bigotry, and how trans people are all such badasses (it's true!). And cis friends, remember that when you see transphobia, saying nothing makes it worse. We don't need you to be perfect, we just need you to TRY. Ask how to help if you're not sure!

Interview with Quantum Leap writer Shakina
It's our interview with writer/director/actor Shakina, all about the recent episode she wrote for the Quantum Leap reboot, episode 112 "Let Them Play." We discuss taking the episode from concept to screen, cis folks wanting to mine trans people's trauma for story drama, living portraits, and just how special and vital this very trans episode was, and WHY it's so important and why this kind of representation matters across the board. You're also going to learn the absolutely vital difference between allies and accomplices. And hey... don't be a garbage goblin.

Essential Listening for Cis Folks
I've been reading Tilly's Trans Tuesdays posts for a few years, and this podcast is a natural evolution of her writing. As a cis person, I need to hear from as many trans voices as possible, and this podcast is an excellent resource for that. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to learn more about the trans experience.
Wonderful and affirming
This podcast has been a wonderful, affirming addition that’s been helping me navigate my own gender discovery. Thanks so much and keep up the great work!
