Ex-Satanist Reveals What Satanism Really Is, and How Jesus Set Him Free

Former Satanist Riaan Swiegelaar reveals what he experienced inside Satanism, the spiritual deception that drew him in, and the extraordinary encounter with Jesus Christ that changed his life. In this powerful episode of The Deep End, Pastor Tim Hatch sits down with Riaan Swiegelaar, a former Satanist from South Africa who left the occult after what he describes as a life-changing encounter with Jesus during a satanic ritual in 2022. Raised in a Christian home, Riaan knew the Bible but says he didn't truly know Jesus. His search for spiritual power led him into New Age practices, psychic work, the occult, and eventually Satanism. Now a follower of Jesus Christ, Riaan shares his firsthand testimony about the realities of Satanism, spiritual warfare, demonic deception, and the freedom he believes can only be found in Christ. 📖 RI AAN SWIEGELAAR'S BOOK Fear No Evil: The Devil Is Real. So Is Your Authority Over Him. https://a.co/d/076SHpkM In this revealing conversation, discover: •What Satanism really teaches: How Riaan says promises of empowerment, belonging, and spiritual enlightenment drew him into the occult. • The dangers of spiritual deception: Why he warns Christians about astrology, psychic readings, occult practices, and compromising their faith. • What happens inside Satanism: His personal accounts of initiation, occult rituals, animal sacrifices, and spiritual bondage. • The encounter that changed everything: How Riaan says Jesus appeared to him during a satanic ritual on May 24, 2022. • His nine-month journey to freedom: Why leaving the occult involved renouncing former practices, confronting unforgiveness, and surrendering his life to Christ. • The danger of empty religion: Why knowing Scripture is not the same as personally knowing Jesus Christ. • How parents can protect their children: Riaan's biblical encouragement for families facing spiritual deception in today's culture. As satanic invocations and public expressions of Satanism attract attention across America, Pastor Tim asks questions many Christians are wrestling with: What is Satanism really about? How does spiritual deception begin? What should parents be watching for? And how can believers stand firm in their faith? Riaan's message is ultimately not about fearing Satan. It's about recognizing the authority of Jesus Christ, understanding the power of God's Word, and living in the victory of the Cross. "The enemy has already been conquered on the cross." 📖 RI AAN SWIEGELAAR'S BOOK Fear No Evil: The Devil Is Real. What God Is Looking For: Why Religion Isn't Enough | Isaiah 4-5

What is God really looking for in His people? Can you experience God's blessings, practice religion, and still be spiritually far from Him? In Isaiah 4-5, Pastor Tim Hatch reveals why outward religion isn't enough, how God's blessings can become spiritually dangerous, and why true transformation begins with Jesus Christ. In Episode 3 of The First Gospel: Knowing Jesus Through the Prophecies of Isaiah, we explore Isaiah 4:2-6 and Isaiah 5:1-7; two powerful passages that reveal God's judgment against sin and His promise to purify, protect, and transform His faithful people. In Isaiah 5, God describes Israel as a vineyard He carefully planted, protected, and provided for. Yet instead of producing good fruit, His people turned toward corruption and rebellion. They enjoyed God's blessings and practiced religion, but their hearts remained unchanged. Privilege without transformation produces corruption. But Isaiah 4 reveals the hope of the gospel. Through the Branch of the Lord—Jesus Christ—God is cultivating a people who belong to Him. Even through suffering, trials, and discipline, He is working to produce holiness, righteousness, and lasting spiritual fruit. IN THIS BIBLE STUDY: - What the Branch of the Lord reveals about Jesus Christ - Why God's blessings can become spiritually dangerous - The meaning of the vineyard and bad fruit in Isaiah 5 - Why religious activity doesn't guarantee spiritual transformation - How God uses hardship and trials to purify His people - What Isaiah reveals about the faithful remnant, Mount Zion, and Christ's present reign - Why abiding in Jesus, the True Vine, is essential to bearing spiritual fruit - The question isn't simply what God has allowed to happen to you. It's what God is growing in you through it. - God isn't merely interested in changing your circumstances. He is transforming your heart. 📖 SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 4:2–6; Isaiah 5:1–7 Additional references: Jeremiah 23:5; Hosea 10:1; John 15; Romans 1:18; Hebrews 12:22; Galatians 4:24–26; 1 Corinthians 3:16. 📘 Follow along in The First Gospel companion devotional and journal, Episode 3: What God Is Looking For. 🔔 Join Pastor Tim Hatch every Thursday at 5 PM ET for The Deep Dive, an in-depth Bible study exploring the prophecies of Isaiah and how they reveal Jesus Christ. 💬 JOIN THE CONVERSATION: Are you allowing God to transform your heart, or have His blessings become something you take for granted? The Cornell 7 and America's S*xual Crisis

The Cornell 7 controversy has sparked a national conversation about sexual assault, consent, and the culture on college campuses. But are we asking the right questions? What if the real problem goes deeper than consent? What if the sexual revolution has failed an entire generation? In this episode of The Deep End, Pastor Tim Hatch examines the disturbing allegations surrounding the Cornell fraternity scandal, the sexual philosophy being promoted in higher education, and the consequences of a culture that has separated sex from commitment. We examine Cornell University's own sexual education materials, the startling statistics surrounding campus sexual assault, and research revealing the relationship between sexual behavior, mental health, marital satisfaction, and divorce. We also explore the neuroscience of sexual intimacy, including how the brain develops into our mid-20s and why sexual relationships involve more than physical pleasure. Is sexual freedom actually making us happier? Are marriages and committed relationships suffering? And what does the Bible have to say about God's design for sex? In this episode, we discuss:     •    The Cornell fraternity scandal and the questions surrounding consent and accountability.     •    Cornell University's approach to sexual education and sexual autonomy.     •    Why the sexual revolution may not have delivered on its promises.     •    Brain development, sexual bonding, and decision-making.     •    The relationship between sexual history, marital satisfaction, and divorce.     •    CDC statistics on sexually transmitted infections and unintended pregnancies.     •    Why religiously committed married couples report different patterns of sexual activity and satisfaction.     •    What Scripture teaches about sexual holiness, commitment, and God's design for marriage. The central question: Is consent enough to make something morally right? The Bible offers a radically different vision of sexuality—one rooted in holiness, self-control, covenant commitment, and love. 📖 Scriptures discussed: Genesis 2:24; 1 Corinthians 6:16; 1 Thessalonians 4:3–6; 1 Corinthians 7:4–5. The Cornell allegations remain contested, and the individuals accused are entitled to due process. This discussion distinguishes those allegations from broader questions about sexual ethics and culture. Join the conversation: Has the sexual revolution helped or harmed our understanding of sex, marriage, and commitment? Share your thoughts in the comments.

Massachusetts' New Abortion Law: Why Is a Messianic Rabbi Challenging Pastors?

Why is a Messianic rabbi challenging Christian pastors to speak up about Massachusetts' new abortion law? Pastor Tim Hatch sits down with Rabbi Henry Morse for a timely conversation about Massachusetts Chapter 188, the Repeal 188 effort, abortion, the Church's role in politics and culture, Israel, antisemitism, and the responsibility of pastors to stand for biblical truth. At the center of the conversation is a provocative question: When an issue is fundamentally moral, should pastors remain silent simply because the culture calls it political? Rabbi Morse explains why he has become involved in the effort to repeal Massachusetts Chapter 188 and why he believes Christian pastors and churches need to engage. Pastor Tim and Rabbi Henry discuss biblical courage, the early Church, persecution, cultural pressure, and what happens when Christians withdraw from difficult moral issues. The conversation also becomes deeply personal. Rabbi Henry shares his journey from an Orthodox Jewish upbringing to faith in Jesus (Yeshua), his years of evangelism, reaching Jewish people through Messianic prophecy, and a powerful story about his father near the end of his life. They also discuss: • Massachusetts Chapter 188 and the Repeal 188 petition effort • Why abortion is more than a political issue • Why some pastors hesitate to address controversial cultural issues • Biblical boldness, persecution, and the early Church • Rabbi Henry Morse's journey to faith in Jesus • Jewish evangelism and Messianic prophecy • Sexual morality and the breakdown of the family • Letitia James, Cornell, and sexual accountability • October 7, Israel, and rising antisemitism • Why Christians should support Israel • Israel's place in biblical prophecy • Rabbi Henry's final challenge to pastors and churches The Deep End with Pastor Tim Hatch examines today's news, politics, culture, and faith through a biblical worldview. 👉 Subscribe to Tim Hatch Live for more conversations that go beyond the headlines and ask what Scripture has to say about the issues shaping our culture. 💬 What do you think? When God Is Not Part Of Your Plans - Isaiah 2:1-4:1

What happens when we leave God out of our plans and exalt ourselves instead? In this study of Isaiah 2–4, Pastor Tim Hatch shows how human pride sets us on a collision course with God—and how the answer isn't trying harder, but letting God lead. Welcome to Episode 2 of The First Gospel: Knowing Jesus Through the Prophecies of Isaiah, a 40-episode Deep Dive Bible Study exploring the ancient prophecies of Isaiah and how they point to Jesus Christ. In Isaiah 2:1–4:1, Isaiah lifts our eyes to the mountain of the Lord, where one day the nations will stream to worship and "beat their swords into plowshares." But Judah was living the opposite story—prosperous, self-reliant, full of idols and foreign alliances, leaving God out of their plans. Isaiah warns of the Day of the Lord, when everything proud and lofty will be brought low and "the Lord alone will be exalted." Chapters 3 and 4 trace the collapse that follows self-rule—and then the hope that remains: the Branch of the Lord, a holy remnant, and God's promise to shelter and lead His people once again. In this episode, discover: • Why leaving God out of our plans is the root of so much of our brokenness. • What the "mountain of the Lord" reveals about God's ultimate purpose for the nations. • How the Day of the Lord exposes and humbles human pride. • Why prosperity and self-sufficiency can quietly push God to the margins. • What the "Branch of the Lord" in Isaiah 4 points to—and how it leads us to Jesus. • How God's promise to lead His people frees us from the exhausting work of leading ourselves. Isaiah calls us to stop exalting our own plans and let God lead—because the God who humbles the proud is the same God who shelters and restores a remnant. 📖 SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 2:1–4:1 (ESV) 📘 GET THE FIRST GOSPEL COMPANION JOURNAL Deepen your study of Isaiah with the companion devotional and journal, featuring Scripture readings, reflection questions, and space for personal prayer. https://timhatchlive.com/books ▶️ ABOUT THE FIRST GOSPEL Join Pastor Tim Hatch for a 40-episode Bible study through Isaiah. Why Are Adults Refusing to Grow Up? Madonna, Kidults & the Toy Boom

Why are so many adults refusing to grow up? Adults are becoming one of the fastest-growing forces in the toy industry, millions are turning to childhood nostalgia for comfort, and even celebrity culture seems obsessed with staying forever young. From the booming “kidult” toy market to Madonna at the 2026 MTV VMAs, Pastor Tim Hatch asks a bigger question: What happened to adulthood? In this episode of The Deep End, Pastor Tim examines the rise of kidulting—adults buying toys, collecting childhood favorites, sleeping with stuffed animals, watching cartoons, and returning to nostalgic hobbies for comfort, community, stress relief, and escape. But the toy aisle is only the beginning. As U.S. birth rates fall, Americans delay marriage and parenthood, loneliness increases, and fewer households include children, Pastor Tim explores whether the kidult boom reflects something deeper: a culture increasingly anxious about the future and tempted to retreat into the security of the past. The conversation also turns to Madonna and the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, celebrity culture’s obsession with youth, the psychology of nostalgia, adult LEGO and collectibles, stuffed animals and mental health, the rising cost of starting a family, declining fertility, and the difference between enjoying a childhood hobby and refusing the responsibilities of adulthood. And there’s an important distinction: owning LEGO, playing drums, collecting toys, or enjoying an old hobby doesn’t make someone immature. The deeper question is where we look for comfort, security, belonging, identity, and purpose—and whether fear is keeping us from moving forward. What does the Bible say about growing up? Jesus calls us to become childlike—but not childish. Biblical maturity isn't simply about age, income, marriage, children, or whether you own toys. It means learning to trust God, take responsibility, love others sacrificially, build meaningful relationships, and move toward the future God has called us to rather than living in the past. - Why adults are buying more toys - The rise of “kidults” and kidulting - Toys, plushies, LEGO, nostalgia, and mental health - Why adults are sleeping with stuffed animals - Madonna and the 2026 MTV VMAs - Celebrity culture and the obsession with staying young - Loneliness, anxiety, comfort, and community - Declining U.S. birth and fertility rates - Delayed marriage, parenthood, and homeownership - Why nostalgia can become an escape - Family, responsibility, and biblical adulthood - Childishness vs. becoming childlike - Where Christians should find comfort, security, and belonging The world is trying to solve a God-sized ache with child-sized toys. The comfort you're looking for is found in Christ. The security you're looking for is found in Him. The belonging you're looking for is found in His Church. You don't have to go backward to childhood to find peace—you can move forward toward the Father. So grow up—and come home. 👍 Like this episode, subscribe, and share it with someone who needs to hear this conversation. ▶ Be part of sharing the Truth: Support Tim Hatch Live 💥 Become a monthly partner and receive exclusive channel perks: Tim Hatch Live Patreon 20% of all giving is tithed back out to the American Bible Society and Project Rescue.

The True Nature Of The Human Problem - Isaiah 1:1-31

What if your greatest problem isn't your circumstances or your behavior—but a condition within your heart that only God can heal? In this Isaiah 1 Bible study, Pastor Tim Hatch reveals the true nature of sin, why religious performance cannot save us, and how God promises to make our scarlet sins white as snow. Welcome to Episode 1 of The First Gospel: Knowing Jesus Through the Prophecies of Isaiah, a 40-episode Deep Dive Bible Study exploring the ancient prophecies of Isaiah and how they point to Jesus Christ. In Isaiah 1:1–31, God brings a case against His own people. Judah was prosperous, religiously active, and outwardly successful, yet spiritually corrupt. Through powerful imagery, Isaiah reveals that sin is more than bad behavior. It is a condition of the human heart that no amount of religious activity or self-improvement can cure. But Isaiah's opening chapter doesn't end with judgment. In Isaiah 1:18, God extends an extraordinary invitation: though our sins are like scarlet, they can become white as snow. In this episode, discover: • Why prosperity can be more spiritually dangerous than suffering. • How sin affects our hearts, minds, and relationship with God. • Why God rejected Israel's sacrifices and empty religious worship. • What Isaiah 1:18 really means when God promises to make scarlet sins white as snow. • How God's refining work leads to repentance and restoration. • How Isaiah chapter 1 points to Jesus Christ and the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. Isaiah reveals the depth of our need for a Savior—and introduces us to the God who invites us to come to Him. 📖 SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 1:1–31 (ESV) 📘 GET THE FIRST GOSPEL COMPANION JOURNAL Deepen your study of Isaiah with the companion devotional and journal, featuring Scripture readings, reflection questions, and space for personal prayer. https://timhatchlive.com/books ▶️ ABOUT THE FIRST GOSPEL Join Pastor Tim Hatch for a 40-episode Bible study through Isaiah.
