Close Encounters of the Third Kind - Ep.40

Space the Final Frontier... where no one can hear you scream but they can hear you giggle. And who are they? And... if you are into giggling or even chuckling, you've come to the right place. You've just entered the Total Casting Recall zone. We are all made of star stuff... or star shit, if you like. So... you'd better get used to it.  In this cosmic episode, Lee,Chris,Lee and Chris, recast the Steven Spielberg classic Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Quick Spoiler Alert:  So this is what happens. Wayward Extraterrestrials play hide and seek with the military, scientists and electricians and other bumpkins in the midwest. These out-of-towers kidnap kids and sunburn other people's faces and drive 'em all plum loco. These Aliens dig partying in their fancy pants spaceships that are all blinged out and Rooty toot toot!!  They do this in the 'Hellzapoppin' Tradition'. In the end, they end up taking with them an unemployed deadbeat dad who will probably wind up whippin' their flimsy skinny asses in the end. But the movie cuts off before we even see that intergalactic smackdown. Which would have been great. Whatever.... Richard basically says goodbye to his girl in this semi-sequel to the Goodbye Girl. Bam! Oh no he di-ent! This movie stars Richard Dreyfuss, Melinda Dillon, Teri Garr and a bunch of other people. And Bob Balaban who you know  from other comedies such as: Midnight Cowboy and Stienfeld.  And a famous French UFO/UAP dude.  CHECK IT OUT, Phil 'The Film Geeky' MacWannybeak

    Napoleon Dynamite- Ep.38

Never have two simple words ever been used together to make a movie that is made up of both one word and another combined together to make a movie title. For those keen cinema aficionados, right away you realized that it probably HAS been done before... Congratulations! You passed not only the test for this weeks episode, you probably scored some points with your friends, real or otherwise. Napoleon Dynamite is not a movie about history or explosives.   Depending on your etheric plane; I suppose it could. But enough with the big words and tough talk; this comedy classic gets recast by two guys Chris and Lee. One of whom knows basically what he's doing.   It stars Jon Heder, Efren Ramirez, Jon Gries and lot of other funny folks. It is well cast and we undo that hard work to give it a more current 'now' or 'pop' feel. And really we're just try to make it gooder. Our guarantee: we offer the most organic, farm to table talking and organic words out there on the podcast market. Plus, very little micro plastics were used in the making of this episode.  Second guarantee: we promise to never really seriously fact check or get the information 100 per cent accurate.  Third guarantee: the audio might not be the best quality but there WILL BE SOUND OF SOME SORT USED IN THIS EPISODE. So rest assured and feast your ears on some good podcasting at its finest. (that we are capable of) Sincerely, King Ding-Dong - Official TCR Royalty (retired)

(SEASON TWO) Escape From New York - Ep. 34

There comes a time when a new season must burst forth.... Here at TOTAL CASTING RECALL, Now is not the time. But we said, NO! IT IS ABOUT TIME. If you have enjoyed reading these or just enjoy reading, then by all means, please continue to do so.  This week, we've switched it up. This one is a drama, it's a sci-fi, and it's not supposed to be a comedy.  It's Escape From New York directed by John Carpenter. It stars: Kurt 'Godzilla' Russell as Snake Plissken, Lee Van Cleef, Harry Dean Stanton, Issac 'South Park' Hayes, Ernest 'Dutch Oven' Borgnine, Donald 'Duck Dunn' Pleasence and Adrienne Barbeau. Great cast? You bet. This week, just like always, let's dismantle it. You got time? So do we. Christ and Leet do their own special damage to the fine cast in this film and reimagine it. A long time ago, people walked inside their movie theaters and witnessed a film. Probably. I don't know. Use your own judgment. What they saw was shocking. I'll bet. It's pretty for certain.  I could be wrong. What are YOU going to do about it? That's what I thought. Dummies.  Anyway. They COULD HAVE seen something so bold as this movie. Long before Escape Rooms. Long before Dreamland Exotic Escape Vacation Getaways. Long before Journey's "Escape" album. Or maybe not.... There was: EXCAPE FROM NEW YORK.   Which was a knockoff. Forget that one,  so we'll instead talk about Escape From New York. A dystopian (bad) bummer look at the future of 'Aye-merica. So crank up your sound systems, or crank up your smart devices or air-pods whatever, because it's a free world. Most of it. For a little while longer. Synchronize your watches! And sit back and listen to the uplifting dulcet tones of two wanna-be film snobs break it down. Peace, Charter TCR Member, 'Marvin"
