Into the Mystic is now "UCC Cast!" Find all United Church of Christ podcasts in one feed!
"Into the Mystic" is Rev. Dr. John Dorhauer's weekly podcast. The General Minister and President creates a weekly message so "the art and practice of spiritual reflection is modeled as a priority and not just a part-time avocation."
INTRODUCING: "Seeds and Ways," a weekly reflection for worship preparation. This series provides an audio reflection for each week's "Sermon Seeds" and "Weekly Seeds." These resources are created by the UCC, based on the Revised Common Lectionary.

Where Faith And Politics Collide - Into The Mystic
In this podcast, The Rev. John C. Dorhauer says:
"Faith and politics not only mix, at times they collide.
When oppression demeans – show up.
When bullies persist – speak up.
When injustice threatens – act out.
And let the abiding Spirit of the living God and the Risen Christ shine through you as your actions make liberation possible."

Stories of inspiration
Every week I count on listening to John's perspectives on living. I feel more ready to take action where I'm needed to act or listen to what needs to be heard. He's like the spirit, as we say at my home church, able to "push us into places we may not necessarily go ourselves."
Let There Be Peace
I can’t say that I have been a constant advocate of peace but deep in my heart I pray for it. Caring for our fellow man through helping and sharing, both acts of love, are ways toward peace on earth. Getting to know our neighbor, both near and far, is a step toward peace on earth. For when we know each other we find the many similarities that God has built within us even if our interests, lifestyles and cultures are different. I think Minister Dorhauer is on to something here and I like it. Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.
