Hire a VA, Get Your Life Back: From 60-Hour Weeks to 10 | Alexia Hoffman

Alexia Hoffman had four daughters in 30 months, more than 80 rental doors, a coffee shop, and a real estate business she had built from the ground up—and she was trying to manage almost everything herself. At her peak, Alexia was working 60-hour weeks and had become the bottleneck in her own business. She didn’t need more ambition or another productivity hack. She needed systems, delegation, and the right support. In this episode of Unbreakable Mompreneurs, Charisse Walker talks with Alexia about how she created a repeatable framework for hiring and fully onboarding a virtual assistant in fewer than 10 hours. That process helped Alexia reduce her workweek to approximately 10–15 hours without sacrificing her income, clients, businesses, or control. Alexia shares the mistakes she made when hiring assistants without clear systems—and what entrepreneurs must establish before bringing on a VA. She explains how to audit your weekly responsibilities, identify tasks someone else can complete 80% as well as you, define measurable expectations, and use beginning-of-day and end-of-day reports to create accountability. But this conversation goes far beyond business systems. Alexia opens up about having twins followed quickly by two more daughters, experiencing postpartum depression after her fourth baby, rebuilding her identity outside of motherhood, and learning to prioritize her needs without feeling guilty. She and Charisse also discuss faith, intuition, changing seasons, and Alexia’s decision to follow God’s direction and move her family and businesses from Michigan to Cincinnati. In this episode, you’ll discover: • How Alexia reduced her workload from 60 hours a week to approximately 10–15• Why you should build systems before hiring a virtual assistant• The first step in Alexia’s VA Fast Track process• How to audit your week and decide what to delegate• Why assigning random tasks causes many VA relationships to fail• How to hire for the role you actually need• The importance of clear goals, processes, KPIs, and accountability• How beginning-of-day and end-of-day reports keep remote employees on track• Why another person only needs to perform a task 80% as well as you• How to stop being the bottleneck in your business• Why successful mompreneurs must protect their time and personal identity• How to choose goals that genuinely support the life you want• What it means to trust God when the next step doesn’t make logical sense• How systems create the freedom to pursue motherhood, health, faith, and meaningful experiences ABOUT ALEXIA HOFFMAN Alexia Hoffman is a TEDx speaker, 2024 Entrepreneur of the Year, real estate investor, coach, and creator of the Delegation Clarity Framework. She built her real estate career from the ground up after entering the industry at 19 and now owns a rental portfolio of more than 80 doors with her husband. Alexia also owns a coffee shop and teaches entrepreneurs how to implement practical systems, hire and onboard virtual assistants, delegate effectively, and build businesses that can operate without them. After having her fourth daughter, Alexia used the time she reclaimed to prioritize her physical and mental health. Eight months postpartum, she completed her first half marathon; one month later, she completed her first triathlon. Her story is proof that delegation isn’t just about getting more work done—it’s about getting your life back. Stop Doing It All: How Systems Give Mompreneurs Their Time Back | Jennifer Staats

What if growing your business didn’t require working 80 hours a week—or sacrificing the moments that matter most with your children? In this episode of Unbreakable Mompreneurs, Charisse Walker sits down with Jennifer Staats, Chief of Staff at Sure Send, bestselling author, and founder of Staats Solutions. Jennifer reveals how she transitioned from real estate agent to operations expert, built a nationwide company, and created systems that allow her to spend approximately four hours a week managing that business. Jennifer and Charisse have an honest conversation about motherhood, entrepreneurship, hiring, delegation, productivity, and building a company that can operate without the owner constantly being in the room. Jennifer explains why successful businesses need more than a CRM, coaching program, weekly meeting, or collection of spreadsheets. They need a consistent operating rhythm in which every team member knows what to do, managers can see what is happening, and leaders can coach proactively instead of reacting after someone falls behind. In this episode, you’ll discover: • Why real estate isn’t always as flexible as it appears• How to recognize repetitive tasks that need a system• What Jennifer learned from hiring her first employee—and every hire after that• How effective hiring and onboarding systems help new employees succeed• Why VAs, ISAs, remote employees, and sales representatives need clear expectations and accountability• How a weekly time audit can reveal hours you can reclaim• Why outsourcing household tasks can help working mothers be more present• How checklists make delegation and business growth easier• Why mompreneurs need grace during different seasons of motherhood• How Jennifer built a team that can onboard clients and employees without depending on her• How to create a business that supports your family instead of consuming your life ABOUT JENNIFER STAATS Jennifer Staats is the Chief of Staff at Sure Send, a bestselling author, and the founder of Staats Solutions. For more than a decade, she has worked inside real estate brokerages, mortgage teams, sales organizations, and service businesses across the country. Jennifer has trained agents and administrative professionals, developed hiring and onboarding systems, and helped business owners create stronger operations, team accountability, and repeatable processes. Her experience working with brokerage owners, mortgage leaders, home-service operators, agents, loan officers, ISAs, VAs, and remote teams helped lead her to Sure Send—the platform created to bring CRM technology, daily structure, coaching, and accountability together. Today, Jennifer helps leaders close the gap between what great business coaching teaches and what their systems actually support. You don’t have to do everything yourself to become a successful entrepreneur or a devoted mother. With the right systems, support, priorities, and operating structure, you can grow a thriving business while protecting time for the people you love. Turn What You Love Into a Side Hustle with Bart Merrell

Your next stream of income may already be hiding inside something you know, enjoy, need, or have experienced. In this episode of Unbreakable Mompreneurs, Charisse Walker sits down with Bart Merrell, the “Side Hustle Samurai,” to explore how ordinary skills and life experiences can become meaningful sources of income. Bart helps people identify their ideal side hustle by examining what they enjoy, what they need, and what they are already doing. Instead of pushing a predetermined opportunity, he helps people discover possibilities within their own unique lives. Bart has created multiple income streams through dog training, international exports, rental real estate, AI-generated music, app development, and other ventures. He also shares the moving story of having his lower left leg amputated and transforming that difficult experience into an opportunity to support other amputees. Today, a prosthetist compensates Bart to help patients prepare for and adjust to life after an amputation. Bart and Charisse discuss how to recognize potential income opportunities, use AI to create new services and products, evaluate whether an idea fits your desired lifestyle, and become comfortable with failure. Bart also explains why a side hustle does not necessarily mean small income—it simply means the venture began on the side. You will hear why Bart turned down an opportunity with nearly risk-free funding, how adopting an untrained Rottweiler led to a dog-training business, and why asking “How can I monetize this?” can completely change how you see your skills and circumstances. Reclaiming Your Inner Authority with Natalie Bouchard

Are you truly growing—or are you using constant learning, coaching, and healing to avoid what your life is trying to show you? Natalie Bouchard joins Charisse Walker to discuss how women can stop seeking permission, return to their center, and reclaim their inner authority. Natalie is a Cohesion Architect who helps women move beyond fragmentation, outside validation, and survival mode so they can trust their own direction. After spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on personal development, earning 12 healing designations, losing a significant amount of money in a business scam, becoming a single mother, and facing serious health concerns, Natalie watched nearly everything in her life collapse. Through that experience, she realized she had accumulated tremendous knowledge while continuing to borrow other people’s methods, answers, and authority. In this candid conversation, Natalie and Charisse explore why women often look to coaches, partners, and outside experts for containment; how survival mode can appear as endless self-improvement; and why facing reality without judgment or avoidance can lead to greater clarity and stability. They also discuss motherhood, divorce, generational patterns, transparent parenting, telling children the truth without controlling their choices, and allowing real-life consequences to become powerful teachers. Natalie shares her free three-module experience, Bump It Like It’s Hot, which introduces her process for facing life’s “bumps,” returning to center, and reconnecting with natural authority.
