On October 31, 2010, in Martin, Ohio, authorities discovered the bodies of Susan Liske, her husband William, and their son Derek inside their home. Another son, Devon, returned home from spending the night elsewhere and walked into a nightmare. At the center of the investigation was William “B.J.” Liske Jr., Susan’s son and William’s stepson. We’re breaking down the timeline leading up to Halloween, B.J.’s behavior, his relationship with the family, his history, what investigators discovered, how he was eventually captured, and the evidence that ultimately connected him to the murders. But there are parts of this story that raise even more questions. We talk about what was happening inside this family before the murders, whether there were warning signs that were missed, what B.J. did immediately afterward, and some of the stranger details surrounding the case that don’t get talked about nearly enough. We’re digging into who Robert Pickton was, how he was finally caught, what investigators discovered on the property, the parties reportedly held at the farm, the enormous police investigation, and the failures that allowed vulnerable women to continue disappearing for years. But there are also questions surrounding this case that have never completely gone away.
