Where We Gather: Scripture Insights from Modern Day Disciples

Audra Elkington | Relatable Scripture Study

The Where We Gather podcast was created to help you draw closer to the Savior through personal scripture study, meaningful conversations and simple acts of faith. Audra Elkington is a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The stresses of life and sincere questions piled up and she spent 6 years away from the church. Since returning to full participation in her mid-30s, Audra has rebuilt her testimony from the ground up. She stripped away all the questions and cultural concerns and started with learning about and nurturing a relationship with the Savior.  Audra has a deep desire to help others learn more about Jesus Christ and His doctrine. The gospel, as laid out by the Savior, is for everyone who is willing to turn toward Him and follow His teachings. This is the core of the gathering of Israel. The Savior is where we gather. Audra has been featured in LDS Living's This is the Gospel, Time Out for Women and has been a guest on several podcasts. She has also taught at FSY, Online Institute, and SALT Gathering. Audra is a graduate of Brigham Young University. How Church Callings Help Us Become More Christlike: What we learn from the fifth Article of Faith

If you want a gentler, clearer way to understand how callings, and sustaining others, can actually increase your faith, this episode will bring so much peace and perspective.  Instead of turning the 5th Article of Faith into a pressure-filled or difficult topic, let's explore it as a Christlike invitation to receive, to support, and to be supported by the Lord and His people. In this episode of Where We Gather, we dive into what it really means to be called of God, why sustaining matters more than we think, and how the Holy Ghost empowers us in both our callings and our questions.  Through honest stories, spiritual insight, and a fresh look at the order the Lord uses to organize His church, you’ll feel encouraged (not lectured) as you discover how God uses the simple (yet important) act of sustaining to shape our hearts and deepen our discipleship. If you’ve ever wrestled with doubt, struggled with sustaining someone in a church calling, or wondered whether you're really up for the task of a specific calling, this message will help you feel seen, strengthened, and guided by a God who knows exactly how to help you grow in Christlike ways.
