Who or what offends you? Not because I want you to tell me, but because I want you to see what those moments reveal about you. When something or someone lights you up, there is almost always a deeper reason. Maybe it bumps into an old insecurity, a former version of you, or a part of your life that you have not fully let go of yet. Offense is information. If you get offended by the same things over and over again, especially with different people, it might show you where your unspoken expectations are. We all have expectations. We try to hide them, but they still drive our feelings and reactions. When you understand your expectations, you can turn them into communication instead of resentment. You can request what you need and the other person has every right to respond with yes or no. It is also possible that offense shows you where your opinions have become part of your identity. If someone challenges that opinion, it can feel like they are challenging you. That is a heavy way to live. Everybody has different experiences, and different opinions. So if some of this sounds like you, that is okay. This is information. This is how you learn, grow, and move forward in life. You can take a step back, assess, and decide how you want to respond. You can protect yourself with a boundary if needed, and you can do all of this without trying to control anyone else. Thank you for listening and watching. I appreciate you being here. What brings you peace? Not temporary escape. Not the approval of others. Real internal calm. We continue the conversation around worth and validation, and we look at how peace shows up when you begin trusting yourself to navigate life from a calmer headspace. I talk about why so many of us feel more familiar with chaos than with peace, and how uncomfortable it can be to experience calm when it finally arrives. You might even feel guilty for wanting peace because it seems foreign. But this is part of the work. The inside/out process involves sitting with your thoughts, allowing uncomfortable feelings to exist, and untangling long held patterns that keep you in survival mode. I also share thoughts on therapy and why developing a productive working relationship with a therapist can be life changing. It is not just signing up for therapy, it is learning to open up, recognize blind spots, and work together on navigating thoughts, habits and emotions. The goal is not to remove all challenges. The goal is to trust yourself more while facing them. Some things in life will never make sense. Some circumstances will not have a satisfying explanation. Peace is not having answers to everything. Peace is knowing you can handle life even when things are unresolved. It is feeling like you belong in your own body and in your own mind. That takes consistent practice, grace and a willingness to continue the conversation with yourself. If this message connects with you, I would love to hear your thoughts. Email me anytime at daryl@yourlevelfitness.com. Thank you for listening. I appreciate you. Keep practicing calm. Keep doing the work. We are changing the way we see ourselves and how we define success, and it goes far beyond fitness. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it. Today we get into how this plays out in our daily lives when we start chasing external worth. We look at how early praise, fitting in, and approval from others quietly shape how we see ourselves. I share how this shows up in fitness when the process becomes another performance instead of a way to support your forever active lifestyle from the inside/out. I talk about how chasing productivity and moving nonstop can keep us from sitting with our thoughts and dealing with uncomfortable feelings. For many of us, staying busy is a way to outrun our inner dialogue. I share personal examples of how this has played out in my life and how seasons have slipped by because I was focused on what I could produce for others instead of learning how to sit with myself. You will hear why the mechanics of weight loss are not the issue for most people and why the real challenge is untangling how much value we place on being useful, productive, or impressive. I want fitness and every other part of your life to be something you do because it supports who you are, not something you use to prove your worth. By the end of this episode, you will have a clear reminder that your value should not rely on what you create or how well you perform. Worth is reinforced daily just like any skill. And the work of building it continues even when you have been on this path for years. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it. Why don’t you think you’re enough? I walk you through how this belief forms over decades, not from a single defining moment. You’ll hear how the small experiences you collect over your life quietly build a story that convinces you that you don’t belong or that you will never measure up. We get into how comparison takes root when you don’t really know who you are. Not who you think you should be. Not who someone else appears to be. Who you actually are. If you don’t have that clarity, anyone who looks confident becomes the standard. I explain how this shows up in fitness, in your goals, in your habits, and honestly, all throughout your life. You’ll hear how high achievers often raise the bar every time they get close. I share personal examples from fitness, from YLF, and from the years where I tried to outrun discomfort by producing more and more. We talk about emptiness. We talk about sitting with yourself. We talk about why the hustle never ends until you choose to end it. I also cover the difference between improving yourself because you want to grow versus improving yourself because you feel empty. I share how productivity, content output, and chasing skills used to define my worth until I had to learn to exist without tying my value to what I produced. Then we get into trust. Trusting yourself is one of the hardest things you will ever do, especially if you have spent most of your life seeking permission, validation, or approval. You will not feel like you’re enough until you learn to follow your own thoughts and take action on them. By the end of this episode, you’ll understand that feeling enough is not a feeling that magically appears. It is something you practice and reinforce daily. You are enough right now. You can improve any area of your life that you want. But your worth has never been tied to achievement, output, or comparison. If you needed this episode, I’m glad you’re here. Most of us underestimate how much progress we’ve already made because we are our own harshest critic. We see every struggle, every pause, every setback, while assuming that everyone else is effortlessly moving forward. I break down the blind spots that show up when you forget that you are living a completely different life with different responsibilities, experiences, and challenges. You may not notice your own consistency. You may not see the skills you’ve developed. You may not acknowledge the resilience you show every time you get up and keep going after difficult seasons. But those things matter. They shape who you are becoming. We also talk about the habit of setting expectations that are so far beyond your current reality that you end up using perfection as a distraction. You tell yourself you need bigger goals or tighter standards, when the truth is you need simpler actions, clearer structure, and more compassion for yourself. Mastering the basics is what builds confidence. Confidence is what builds momentum. Momentum is what helps you trust yourself. And that trust is everything. When you trust yourself you stop giving up when things get messy. You stop assuming struggle means failure. You stop waiting for perfect conditions before you take action. You start seeing obstacles as part of the path, not proof that you should quit. Your pace, your path, and your progress are yours. There will be side quests, pauses, detours, bursts of energy, and slower seasons. All of it counts. All of it is part of running your own race with intention, awareness, and a calm headspace. I share how easy it is to rationalize our way out of taking action, convince ourselves that the timing isn’t right, or believe our work isn’t good enough to put out. I also talk about how quickly that mindset becomes a pattern that steals time we can never get back. I walk you through the early days of my blogging and podcasting journey, where I had the ideas, the plans, the drafts, and the structure, but still couldn’t get myself to hit publish. It took me months to get a second podcast episode out because I was in my head about everything. What finally changed things was choosing to take action even before I felt ready, and deciding I was going to publish something no matter what. Once I did that, the fear loosened and curiosity took over. When you start believing you are capable and let your actions reinforce that belief, everything changes. You stop looking for permission. You stop trying to predict every outcome. You get curious about what might happen if you try something new. That curiosity is what led to this podcast. It’s what led to the growth of the YLF blog. It’s what led to building the entire YLF ecosystem that now supports your inside/out process. I also share how time has proven the value of simply showing up. In a year of almost daily blogging, the website grew from one hundred visits a month to six hundred. The path wasn’t linear, and it never is. The ups and downs are part of the story. But progress only happens when you stop waiting and start creating. Time is moving fast. If you are in your thirties or forties, you feel that every single day. I do not want you to look back and regret the seasons of your life where you talked yourself out of taking action. You deserve better than that. You deserve to trust yourself, follow through, and take steps toward the life you want. Thank you for listening. Most people only know parts of who you are, and many times they like the idea of you more than the full version of you. That’s not a bad thing. It’s just part of life, especially when you’re building self-awareness and living from the inside/out. We all want to be understood, but the truth is that not everyone deserves full access to us. Knowing your worth isn’t just about saying it, it’s about enforcing it. Part of that enforcement means being selective about who gets your time and energy. Not everyone needs to know your story or understand your decisions. Let people think what they’re going to think, because they will anyway. Most of the time, their opinions are reflections of how they see themselves, not you. This applies to every part of life, including fitness. People might judge your choices, your pace, or your goals without knowing your reasons. But you don’t owe anyone an explanation for how you live your life or pursue your health. When you stop explaining and start living authentically, you free up a lot of mental energy to focus on your own growth. The smaller the circle of people who truly understand you, the calmer your life becomes. And the more you connect with yourself, the less you feel the need to be understood by others. That’s one of the quietest and most powerful shifts you can make. Thank you for listening and for continuing to build this community focused on living from the inside/out. You have spent years, maybe decades, carrying the weight of messages that told you that if you just lost enough, fixed enough, or proved enough, you would finally be worthy. I want to help you drop that story. We talk about what happens when you hit the goal, lose the weight, follow the program, use the tools, and still look in the mirror and feel the same. For so many, it is not just about seeing the same body. It is about feeling like the same person and still not liking that person. That is the part that hurts. That is where the real regret can creep in. Instead of living your entire life chasing quick fixes and external approval, I want you to build something you will actually want to do for the rest of your life. You already have what you need inside of you to do that. My role is to put out content that reminds you to appreciate yourself from the inside/out. The podcast, the blog, the emails, the resources are all there to reinforce a different kind of message. One that tells you that you are not behind, you are not in competition with anyone else, and your path is allowed to look different. We dig into how subtle and direct marketing, fitness culture, and comparison keep you feeling less than. We talk about the signs that you might be rationalizing a life that does not fit you. And we talk about how things shift when you are genuinely fulfilled and aligned. When you are connected to who you are, you start to want everyone to win, because you are finally on your path. I do not want you to regret the time and energy you have already spent. I want you to use everything you have learned to build a life, a process, and a relationship with yourself that actually feels like yours.
