    My parents are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, and the whole family is heading off on a vacation together. Meanwhile, somehow, Patty Boy gets left behind. This episode is about family, getting older, memories, marriage, and the absolute chaos that comes with getting an entire family together. I take a look back at my parents when they were young, their wedding in 1976, the life they built together, and what 50 years of marriage really means. Then we get into the family vacation, everybody’s personalities, the kids, the plans, the arguments, the laughs, a nd of course, me waking up wondering where the hell everybody went. 50 years. One family. One vacation. And somehow they forgot Patty Boy.

    S7 E14 READ THE ROOM

    Have you ever walked into a room and immediately felt the energy? In this episode, I’m talking about reading the room, reading body language, understanding different personalities, and knowing when to turn your energy up or slow it down. Sometimes we think we know exactly what somebody is thinking, but we could be completely wrong. Sometimes somebody isn’t being cold. They’re just quiet. Sometimes they don’t match your energy because they simply operate differently. And sometimes the bigger question isn’t whether they like you. It’s whether you like their energy. I talk about knowing who you want around you, paying attention to the people who push you forward, not taking everything personally, and learning when a room simply isn’t your room. You don’t have to change who you are to fit in. You just have to learn how to read the room. READ THE ROOM.

    S7 E13 WALK INTO NEW ROOMS

    Patty Boy talks about getting out of his normal routine and walking into a completely different room. After years of walking past a gym in Pacific Beach, Patty finally walks inside and ends up meeting entrepreneur Jay. One conversation turns into a workout, new connections, construction opportunities, ideas for a podcast studio inside an old bank vault, and a potential comedy show. The Banshee, Patty Boy, is already DMing comedians, talking numbers, looking at calendars, and putting the pieces together for a show with four or five popping comedians, with Patty Boy potentially hosting and keeping the energy moving between sets. What started as simply checking out a new gym suddenly turned into business ideas, new relationships, podcast opportunities, comedy, and a whole new environment. Sometimes you just have to get out of the same room. Walk into a new one. You never know what happens next.

    Summer is almost over, so I’ve been spending as much time outside as possible. Sometimes you have one of those days where everything happens. You’re having a great time, then suddenly life humbles you a little bit.
