25 Years After 9/11 (with Lisa Monaco & Ken Wainstein)

I’ve been so disturbed by Senator Rand Paul of going after Dr. Fauci for what he believes as missteps during Covid, but was unwilling to go after the President that was downplaying Covid for his own means of being re-elected. People died attending his rally. What scientist will be willing to step up and guide us during a health emergency after this betrayal by our leaders? Shame on Rand Paul & the rest of congress, using him for fodder in order to escape blame.

When did Sam Harris become so irrational that he would say Zoran Mamdani talks about Israel “every other sentence” and that politicians like him and El-Sayad will result in a catastrophe for the US? The first statement is factually incorrect, and Harris gave no reason for the second. So too, Preet thinks that the Manhattan prosecution marked the beginning of Trump’s approval starting to rise. Preet has formerly said that this means we should not impeach him in case it would bring supporters to him. What, no accountability whatsoever is preferable? Would it not be more reasonable for both Harris and Bharara to acknowledge a noteworthy shift in the populace, as seen in the recent elections, extreme distaste for the president (who won by only 1.5%), and mass crowds marching in the streets? This extreme centrism might not serve anyone.

Brought me to tears! Stay Tuned has long been one of my favorite podcasts. Preet and Joyce are a treat to listen to, their well-informed commentaries often sprinkled with much needed good humor. But I had to write about a recent episode that for the first time brought me to actual tears: Preet’s remembrance of John O’Malley. What an inspirational life John had! Preet’s words were heartfelt and a fitting tribute. As long as there are people like John O’Malley, there is hope in the world.
