    We Are Resurrection People

There are moments in life when things feel beyond repair. Situations where we quietly (or loudly) think, “It’s too late.” Too much damage. Too much time has passed. Too much has been lost. That’s exactly where Mary and Martha found themselves. By the time Jesus arrived, Lazarus had been in the tomb for four days. Hope had expired. The story felt finished. Their words carried the weight of disappointment: “If you had been here…” But Jesus steps into that place—not with an explanation, but with a declaration: “I am the resurrection and the life.” Not I bring resurrection someday. Not I will fix this eventually. But I am—right here, right now. This changes everything. Resurrection is not just a future promise reserved for eternity. It is a present reality wherever Jesus is present. It means that no situation is too far gone, no heart too hardened, no season too dead for Him to bring life again. We are called “resurrection people” because we live with this bold, stubborn hope: That God can restore what feels lost That He can redeem what feels broken That He can breathe life into what feels lifeless Even tonight, Jesus stands with you—not distant, not delayed, not “too late.” He stands in the middle of your story with the same power He carried at Lazarus’ tomb. And where He is, life is still possible. Main Takeaways Jesus is not just the giver of resurrection—He is resurrection itself. It is never “too late” for God to bring new life into a situation. Resurrection power is available now, not just in the future. As believers, we are called to live with bold, hope-filled faith. Jesus meets us in our darkest places and brings life there. TONIGHT’S SCRIPTURE  “I am the resurrection and the life.” - John 11:25 Your Evening Prayer Precious Jesus, Thank You for being the resurrection and the life. Thank You that no part of my story is too far gone for You to redeem. In the places where I feel hopeless or discouraged, remind me that You are present and still at work. Breathe new life into the areas of my heart that feel weary or worn down. Help me live as a resurrection person—full of hope, faith, and trust in Your power. Give me the courage to believe that You are moving, even when I cannot yet see it. Tonight, I rest in the truth that You are with me, and where You are, life is always possible. In Your name, Amen. He Prepares a Place for You

There is something in all of us that longs for things to be made right. We feel it when grief lingers, when injustice goes unanswered, or when life simply doesn’t unfold the way we hoped. Deep down, we know this world is not as it should be. Jesus speaks directly into that longing in John 14:3: “I go and prepare a place for you… that you also may be where I am.” This is not just a comforting thought—it is a promise. While we experience glimpses of God’s goodness here on earth, they are only previews of what is to come. The fullness of joy, peace, and restoration is still ahead. God is actively preparing a place where brokenness will be healed, sorrow will be lifted, and everything wrong will be made right. Holding onto this truth changes how we live today. It gives us hope when life feels uncertain. It steadies us when grief feels overwhelming. It reminds us that injustice does not have the final word. Heaven is not an escape from reality—it is the fulfillment of God’s plan to restore all things. And as believers, we live with this “long view,” trusting that what we see now is not the end of the story. Tonight, whatever weighs on your heart, remember this: your future is secure in Christ. He is preparing a place for you, and one day, you will be with Him—fully, completely, forever. The best is truly yet to come. Main Takeaways Jesus promises to prepare a place for us in eternity. Earthly experiences are only glimpses of the fullness of Heaven. The hope of Heaven brings comfort in grief, injustice, and uncertainty. God will ultimately make all things new and set everything right. Living with an eternal perspective strengthens our trust in God today. TONIGHT’S SCRIPTURE "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me, that you also may be where I am." - John 14:3 Your Evening Prayer Father, Thank You for the promise of Heaven and the hope it brings to my life. When I feel discouraged or overwhelmed, remind me that this world is not the end of my story. Help me trust that You are making all things new, even when I cannot see it yet. Strengthen my faith to hold onto Your promises and to live with an eternal perspective. Teach me to share Your love with others so they can glimpse the hope of what is to come. Thank You for preparing a place for me, and for the assurance that one day I will be with You forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Jesus Meets You on the Road

Sometimes we imagine that encountering Jesus requires a perfect setting—a quiet church, a powerful worship moment, or a season when life finally feels put together. But Scripture and experience both tell a different story. Jesus often meets people on the road. In Luke 24, two disciples walked away from Jerusalem, discouraged and confused after the crucifixion. It was there, in their disappointment and uncertainty, that Jesus came alongside them. They didn’t recognize Him at first, but as He spoke and opened the Scriptures, something stirred within them: “Did not our hearts burn within us…?” Jesus didn’t wait for them to find Him. He met them right where they were. That’s still how He works today. He meets us in ordinary moments. He meets us in broken places. He meets us when we’re lost, distracted, or unsure of what comes next. Sometimes His presence is obvious and life-changing in an instant. Other times, it’s quieter—a conversation, a realization, a truth that slowly settles into your heart. But in every case, it is His love that reaches us first. The beauty of Jesus is not just that He changes our direction—it’s that He walks with us in it. He opens our eyes, softens our hearts, and reveals truth in ways we didn’t expect. And when He does, something begins to shift inside us. Hope returns. Purpose becomes clearer. Our hearts awaken to His presence. Tonight, consider this: Jesus is not distant from your journey. He is already walking alongside you. Even if you don’t fully recognize Him yet, He is speaking, guiding, and inviting you into deeper relationship. All He asks is that you remain open to seeing Him. Main Takeaways Jesus meets us in everyday moments, not just ideal circumstances. He often reveals Himself in seasons of confusion, disappointment, or need. Like the disciples on the road to Emmaus, our hearts are stirred as He speaks truth. God pursues us before we fully recognize Him. Encountering Jesus transforms our hearts, even if circumstances don’t immediately change. TONIGHT'S SCRIPTURE They said to each other, “Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the Scriptures?” - Luke 24:32 Your Evening Prayer Father, Thank You for meeting me right where I am, even when I don’t always recognize Your presence. Thank You for pursuing me with Your love and walking beside me through every season of life. Open my eyes to see You more clearly. Stir my heart as I encounter Your Word and Your truth. Help me recognize the ways You are speaking, guiding, and drawing me closer to You. Where I have been resistant or unaware, soften my heart. Lead me into deeper relationship with You, and let my life reflect the transformation only You can bring. In Jesus’ name, Amen. His Peace Calms the Storm

Storms have a way of overwhelming everything. Sometimes it’s the visible kind—circumstances unraveling, loss stacking up, uncertainty crashing in waves. Other times, the storm is internal—fear, anger, confusion, questions you can’t quite put into words. In Mark 4:39, Jesus speaks directly into chaos: “Quiet! Be still!” And immediately, the storm obeys. What’s striking about this moment is not just that Jesus calms the wind and waves—but that He was already in the boat. Before the storm stopped, before the disciples understood, before peace came—He was present. That truth matters. Because often the deepest fear isn’t just the storm itself—it’s the question beneath it: Does God see? Does He care? The disciples asked it outright: “Don’t you care if we drown?” And maybe you’ve felt that too in your own way. But Jesus responds not with distance, but with authority and presence. He speaks to both storms—the one around them and the one within them. He still does that today. He speaks peace into circumstances we cannot control. He speaks calm into hearts we cannot quiet on our own. And sometimes, that peace doesn’t come all at once. Sometimes it grows slowly, as we return to Him again and again, letting His voice settle what feels unsettled inside us. Tonight, whatever storm you’re facing—external or internal—remember this: Jesus is not absent. He is in the boat with you. And His voice still carries the power to bring peace. Main Takeaways Jesus has authority over both external and internal storms. His presence is constant, even when it feels like He is silent. Fear often comes with the question of whether God cares—but He does. Peace may come instantly or grow gradually as we seek Him. We don’t need perfect words or perfect faith—just a willingness to turn to Him. TONIGHT'S SCRIPTURE “He got up, rebuked the wind… ‘Quiet! Be still!” - Mark 4:39 Your Evening Prayer Jesus, I need You to speak peace into my life tonight. You see the storms around me and the ones inside me. The fear, the questions, the overwhelm—I bring it all to You. I’m tired of trying to calm everything on my own. Remind me that You are with me, that You have not left me, and that Your voice still carries authority over every situation I face. Speak peace to my heart. Quiet what feels out of control. Help me trust that even when I don’t understand, You are present and working. In Your name, Amen. The Invitation to Humility

Humility is one of the most essential—and most challenging—virtues in the Christian life. It’s not something we naturally drift toward. In fact, pride can quietly weave itself into even our best intentions, disguising itself as righteousness, success, or even “spiritual maturity.” James 4:10 gives us a simple but powerful invitation: “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.” Notice the order. We humble ourselves first—not to earn God’s favor, but to position our hearts rightly before Him. And then, He lifts us up. True elevation comes from God, not from striving, proving, or promoting ourselves. Humility isn’t thinking poorly of yourself. It’s thinking of yourself less. It’s a posture of surrender—choosing God’s will over your own, His glory over your recognition. It’s serving when no one notices. It’s giving when it costs something. It’s letting go of the need to be right, seen, or affirmed. Jesus is our ultimate example. Though He was Lord of all, He humbled Himself completely—serving others, touching the untouchable, and ultimately laying down His life on the cross. His humility was not weakness; it was strength under perfect submission to the Father. Tonight, consider where pride may be quietly shaping your thoughts or responses. Perhaps in moments of offense, comparison, or self-justification. Bring those places honestly before God. Humility begins with awareness and grows through surrender. And here’s the promise: when you lower yourself before God, He lifts you in ways that truly matter—shaping your heart, deepening your faith, and drawing you closer to Him. Main Takeaways Humility is not self-deprecation but surrender to God’s will and glory. Pride can subtly influence even good intentions. God calls us to humble ourselves, and He is the one who lifts us up. Jesus models true humility through His life and sacrifice. Recognizing and surrendering pride deepens our relationship with God. TONIGHT’S SCRIPTURE  “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.” - James 4:10 Your Evening Prayer Oh, glorious Father, Let Your name be praised. Tonight I come before You, aware of how easily pride can take root in my heart. Help me to walk in true humility—not seeking my own recognition, but desiring Your glory above all else. Search my heart and reveal any pride, self-righteousness, or hidden motives within me. Teach me to surrender my will daily and to follow Your leading with a humble spirit. Help me to serve quietly, love selflessly, and trust You to lift me up in Your perfect time. May my life reflect the humility of Jesus in all that I do. In His powerful name I pray, Amen. Learning the Rhythm of Grace

Life often pushes us toward striving. We hurry from responsibility to responsibility, trying to carry everything ourselves. The weight of expectations, worries, and decisions can leave our souls feeling tired and restless. Yet Jesus offers a different way. In Matthew 11:29, He says, “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me… and you will find rest for your souls.” In Jesus’ time, a yoke joined two animals together so they could pull a plow side by side. The stronger animal would bear most of the weight, guiding the other as they walked forward. When Jesus invites us to take His yoke, He is inviting us into a life of partnership with Him. This means we were never meant to carry life alone. When we are yoked with Christ, He carries the heaviest burdens. He steadies our steps and keeps us moving in the right direction. Instead of striving to control everything, we learn to walk at His pace. His rhythm is not frantic or exhausting—it is steady, peaceful, and full of grace. Learning from Jesus takes time. It requires slowing down enough to notice where He is leading. But as we walk with Him day after day, we discover something beautiful: rest is not found in escaping life’s responsibilities, but in carrying them with Christ beside us. Tonight, release the weight you’ve been holding. Let Jesus take the heavier side of the yoke. His grace is enough for every step you will take tomorrow. Main Takeaways Jesus invites us into partnership with Him through the image of the yoke. We were never meant to carry life’s burdens alone. Walking with Christ means learning His steady rhythm of grace. Rest is found not in striving, but in trusting Jesus to carry the weight with us. Staying in step with Jesus keeps us aligned with God’s will. Tonight's Scripture: “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me… and you will find rest for your souls.” - Matthew 11:29 Your Evening Prayer Dear Jesus, Thank You for inviting me to walk alongside You. Too often I try to carry the weight of life on my own. Tonight I surrender those burdens to You. Teach me to walk in Your rhythm of grace. Help me slow down enough to listen for Your guidance and trust that You are carrying what I cannot. Let my life be shaped not by striving, but by faithful steps beside my Savior. Fill my heart with the rest that only You can give. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Let Every Step Be Worship

Worship is often associated with music, prayer, or moments inside a church. But Scripture reminds us that worship is meant to extend far beyond those spaces. First Corinthians 10:31 tells us, “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” That means worship is not confined to Sunday mornings—it is woven into the rhythm of everyday life. Worship can begin the moment you wake up, when you choose gratitude instead of rushing straight into worry or distraction. It continues in the middle of your day as you approach responsibilities, conversations, and challenges with a heart that seeks to honor God. And it carries into the evening as you care for others, complete your tasks, and rest in the Lord’s presence. Of course, we don’t do this perfectly. There are moments when frustration creeps into our tone, when exhaustion leads to impatience, or when our attention drifts away from God. Yet even those moments remind us why we need a Savior. God’s grace meets us there and gently redirects our hearts back to Him. When we begin to see our daily routines as opportunities for worship, everything shifts. Ordinary tasks become sacred moments. Conversations become chances to reflect Christ’s love. Even the small, unseen parts of our day become acts of devotion. Tonight, as you reflect on the day behind you, remember that every step—whether joyful or challenging—can be offered to God as worship. Your life, in its ordinary rhythms, can bring Him glory. Main Takeaways Worship extends beyond music or church gatherings into everyday life. First Corinthians 10:31 calls believers to glorify God in everything they do. Ordinary tasks can become acts of worship when done with the right heart. God’s grace redirects us when we fall short of honoring Him. A life centered on Christ reflects His glory in both big and small moments. Bible Verse Reference “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” - 1 Corinthians 10:31 Your Evening Prayer Father, Thank You for creating me to bring glory to Your name. Help me see every part of my day as an opportunity to worship You. When I fall short, gently redirect my heart through the work of the Holy Spirit. Teach me to begin my days with gratitude, walk through my responsibilities with faithfulness, and end my evenings with peace in Your presence. Let my words, actions, and attitudes reflect Your love so that others may see You through my life. Thank You for walking with me through every moment of the day. In Jesus’ name, Amen. He Knows Your Frame

God knows exactly how you are made. Every strength. Every weakness. Every limit. Psalm 103:14 reminds us of a comforting truth: “He remembers that we are dust.” From the very beginning, God formed humanity from the dust of the ground and breathed life into us. We were created with purpose—to worship Him and reflect His image in the world. Yet after sin entered the story, life became heavier. Work became harder. Obedience sometimes feels frightening. Faith can stretch us beyond what feels comfortable. Still, God does not treat us harshly when we struggle. David wrote Psalm 103 later in life, looking back and recognizing something beautiful about God’s character. God had been patient with him. Compassionate. Merciful. David saw clearly that God did not treat him as his sins deserved. That same compassion remains true for us today. God knows our frailty. He understands the pressure we carry and the courage it takes to follow Him. When He calls us forward, He does not demand perfection. Instead, He walks with us patiently, strengthening us step by step. When you feel overwhelmed or inadequate, remember that God is not surprised by your limitations. He designed you. He knows where you struggle. And instead of turning away, He draws closer—offering His strength where yours runs out. Tonight, rest in the kindness of a God who remembers your frame and meets you with compassion. Main Takeaways God understands our human limitations and weaknesses. Psalm 103 reminds us that God treats us with compassion because He knows our frailty. Obedience may feel difficult, but God walks with us patiently as we follow Him. Our weakness does not disqualify us; it invites God’s strength into our lives. Reflecting on God’s past faithfulness strengthens our trust in Him today. TONIGHT'S SCRIPTURE “He remembers that we are dust." - Psalm 103:14 Your Evening Prayer Dear Jesus, Thank You for understanding my human limitations. You know my struggles, my fears, and the areas where I feel weak. Thank You for treating me with compassion and patience instead of judgment. Help me trust that You are walking with me through every challenge. When I feel overwhelmed, remind me that Your strength is greater than my weakness. Give me courage to follow Your will, knowing You are guiding and sustaining me. Tonight I rest in Your kindness and love, grateful that You remember my frame and still choose to walk beside me.
