What Makes a Good Life? This Study on 26,000 Regrets Will Guide You for the Rest of Your Life

When was the last time you thought about something you wish you'd done differently?  A relationship you let drift apart. A mistake you wish you could take back. A conversation you keep putting off. A decision that you now realize was the wrong one.  You’re not alone. Regret is actually one of the most common emotions people experience – and it’s the most misunderstood.  That’s why Mel invited Daniel Pink, one of the most influential thinkers and authors of our time, to share the findings of his World Regret Survey, the largest study of human regret ever conducted, analyzing more than 26,000 regrets from people across 134 countries.  After analyzing regrets from all around the world, his research has found that there are 4 core types of regrets, and based on what kind of regret you're dealing with, there are specific strategies that you can use to process it, learn from it, and move forward.  You’re also going to be inspired to take action after hearing what other people regret the most, so you can live in a way that will avoid these regrets for yourself.  In this episode, you’ll learn: -The 4 types of regret and how to recognize yours -The one type of regret that shows up more than any other -Why the things you didn't do will haunt you far more than the things you did, and what that tells you to go do today -Daniel's 3-step reset to stop repeating the same patterns and start moving forward -One simple move you can make today to stop repeating the same regret pattern This is not a conversation about the past. It's a conversation about what you do next. Because after studying 26,000 regrets, the answer is clear: You can't change what happened. You can change what happens next. 1 DAY AGO

    2

Priscilla Shirer: The Secret to Saying No!

What if the life you’re chasing is costing you the life you’re living right now? In this conversation with Priscilla Shirer, I experienced something rare. This wasn’t just a discussion about success or productivity. It was a masterclass in rhythm, presence, and faith. From the moment we started, I could feel the depth of her wisdom and the peace she operates with. And trust me, it challenged me. Because like many of you, I’ve spent years chasing momentum, saying yes, and filling every gap in my calendar. What Priscilla shared flipped that thinking on its head. She broke down the power of saying no in a way I’ve never heard before. Not as rejection, but as alignment. Every no creates space for the right yes. She talked about how saying yes out of guilt or fear always leads to regret, and how protecting your time is actually a way of honoring your priorities. What really hit me was her perspective that when we refuse to step back, we might be blocking someone else’s opportunity to step forward. That level of humility and awareness is rare, and it made me reflect on how I’ve been showing up in my own life. We also went deep on something I think everyone struggles with, trusting God in the middle of uncertainty. Not just saying it, but actually living it. Priscilla made it simple and powerful. Do your part fully, and release the outcome. Stop trying to do God’s job. That idea of creating margin in your life, real space to breathe, think, connect, and even be interrupted, was one of the most impactful parts of this entire conversation. She made me realize that a packed calendar isn’t a badge of honor. It’s often a barrier to the very life we’re trying to build. One of the most emotional moments we shared was around the idea of delaying your life. Waiting for the perfect moment, the perfect conditions, the “someday” that may never come. Priscilla shared how easy it is to miss the treasures in the season you’re currently in because you’re so focused on the next one. That hit me hard. Because the truth is, this is the moment. This is your life. Not someday. Not later. Right now. This episode is about priorities, faith, family, and learning to live with intention. It’s about choosing presence over pressure and purpose over popularity. If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, or disconnected from what really matters, this conversation is going to bring you back to center in a powerful way. Key Takeaways: Why saying no is one of the most powerful tools for protecting your purpose How margin creates space for peace, creativity, and meaningful connection The danger of chasing momentum at the expense of your priorities What it really looks like to trust God with your life and outcomes Why the season you’re in right now holds the keys to your future How intentional living shapes your family, your faith, and your legacy 👉 SUBSCRIBE TO ED'S YOUTUBE CHANNEL NOW 👈   → → → CONNECT WITH ED MYLETT ON SOCIAL MEDIA: ← ← ←  ➡️ INSTAGRAM   ➡️FACEBOOK   ➡️ LINKEDIN   ➡️ X   ➡️ WEBSITE  Learn more about your ad choices. How To Build The Resilience That Saves You Before Crisis Hits | Brendon Burchard

Leave an Amazon Rating or Review for my New York Times Bestselling book, Make Money Easy! Check out the full episode: https://greatness.lnk.to/1926DM Brendon Burchard makes a claim that sounds controversial until you think about it: high performers don't just tolerate responsibility, they crave it. They can't wait to see how they show up when they're 30 points down. The mindset shift is specific. When you're underperforming and reactive, every obligation feels like a threat. When you've done the inner work, that same pressure feels like a stage. Lewis puts it in concrete terms. The people who thrive in a crisis aren't the ones scrambling to get ready. They're the ones who never stopped preparing. Stay ready so you don't have to get ready. That's not a motivational slogan. It's a strategy.
