    Mark 1:9-13 Part 2 A Voice from Heaven

    In this episode Susan Downie opens the Gospel of Mark to explore Jesus’ baptism, the Spirit descending like a dove, and the audible declaration from heaven: "You are my Son, whom I love."     Lent Day 40 Titus 3:12-15 Goodbye, See You Later — Good Friday Reflections on the Three Crosses

    Host Susan Downie leads a 15–20 minute quiet-time episode finishing the book of Titus and reflecting on Good Friday. She reads Titus 3:12–15 and shares Paul’s final greetings to the church. Using the image of three crosses, Susan explores Jesus as the way, the truth, and the life, reflects on the criminal’s plea to be remembered, and considers the promise of paradise and the call to live in love and service.     Lent Day 39-Washing, Betrayal, and Grace: Maundy Thursday Reflections

    On Maundy Thursday Susan Downie reflects on the Last Supper — Jesus washing his disciples' feet, Judas's betrayal, and Peter's denial — and what that teaches us about grace, sin, and the need for a saviour. She then links the scene to Titus 3, highlighting the washing of rebirth by the Spirit, the importance of stressing the gospel over divisive controversies, and encourages listeners to choose mission, truth, and daily repentance.     Lent Day 38 Titus 3:1-7 Don't Press Send !

    Join Susan Downie your host as she continues to explore the book of Titus. The Apostle Paul's pastoral letter to a young church leader Titus. In Chapter three she finds the challenge to herself regarding what "good" looks like and how "good" is measured and exercised within the Christian world and outside of it.  She compares the difference between standing firm and standing down when work life may not reflect the "good" the bible speaks of. Susan invites us all to regard our behaviour as though we are between the Grace we receive at new birth, through the Holy Spirit, and the Glory that is promised to all believers and will experienced in eternal life.  Susan further reminds us that judgement is Gods and Gods alone, and we are only to watch out for the planks in our own eyes. Using Tim Chesters book Titus For You published by The Good Book Company, she expands on Grace as the engine of the Good life. This section of Titus is given some headings in Tim Chesters Book. Namely: New Hope New Love, New identity.  Reminding us that God's ways are not our ways and that His thoughts are not our thoughts, we must be mindful to enquire of God when making any major decisions. We must weigh our behaviour against the list in Titus three. This states we are to be peaceable; considerate; gentle; and avoid slander. Especially when sending an email she advises that we Do Not Press Send! Using an example from her own current work life experience. She calls for patience understanding and godly responses as God has been merciful to each one of us.  Finally she asks us to consider some questions raised by Tim Chester in his reflection on Titus.   Think about what is best and what is harder in your life?   How does knowing you live between grace and glory shape your attitude towards those things.   Think back to how reflecting on Gods generosity gods grace gods mercy towards you motivates you to change?   Who could you encourage to enjoy gods grace and coming glory today ?
