The short version: everybody wants to be Porsche, and Porsche wants to be Ferrari. They dig into what that means for buyers who don't want a world split between hypercars and sh**boxes. Matt also shares the full spec sheet on his Porsche 911 giveaway: a 992.2 Carrera T in Slate Gray Neo, six-speed manual, burl wood shift knob, 600hp Flat 6 Motorsports kit, BBI suspension, M Engineering tune, custom wheels, and a Porsche 917 psychedelic livery by 405 Motoring. Tickets go live December 11. From there, Spike and Matt run through Road and Track's best sports cars under 50k for 2026, covering the Mazda MX-5 Miata, Toyota GR86, Subaru BRZ, BMW 230i, Honda Prelude, Nissan Z, and Volkswagen Golf R. Then it's on to best beginner track cars. Viral clip reactions include a Stockton roundabout that accidentally became a drift course and a 67-year-old doing courthouse lawn donuts in a Chevy Impala. To close, Paul Boutros of Phillips Watches unveils the auction centerpiece for the Phillips Watches auction in New York: Vic Elford's Rolex Daytona, awarded to him for winning the 1968 24 Hours of Daytona in a Porsche 907. It is the first documented Daytona ever given to a motorsport champion, previously owned by Jerry Seinfeld. _____________________________________________ 📧 To advertise with Spike’s Car Radio, contact Neon Tiger Media: contact@neontiger.media 🌐 or visit: https://scrpod.com/sponsor Produced by Skyview Entertainment & Q6 Media https://q6.media ______________________________________________ Timestamps: 00:00 - Why Porsche is raising prices again 05:18 - How to win a Porsche 911 17:17 - The best sportscars under $50,000 26:50 - The best first-time track cars 30:02 - Crackdown on street takeover FAIL 35:23 - Woman does drunk donuts on courthouse lawn 38:13 - Matt's Porsche Taycan is back! 46:33 - Introducing Paul Boutros from Phillips Auctions 49:12 - The Vic Elford Daytona Rolex Learn more about your ad choices.
