Claire Knew That Regional Women Needed A Platform, So She Made It

Claire Dunne was at a crossroads. She was 23, working on her parent's farm and all she wanted to do was travel, but she didn't have the money to do it.

    Then she got an idea.

Growing up in regional Queensland on a cattle farm, Claire noticed that the stories of the incredible women around her weren't being celebrated.

So from her parent's kitchen bench, she starting making a magazine. She called it Graziher.

Five years on, Graziher continues to showcase the stories of regional women across Australia. From doctors to lady startups to people in agriculture Graziher reflects regional and remote communities in all their glory.

Jessica Got Made Redundant In 2020, Now She's Living Her Dream

Jessica Nguyen was killing it in the beauty world. She had climbed the ranks and was working at some of the top companies.

Then in 2020, she got made redundant.

Jessica was forced to reevaluate everything. So instead of waiting around for a new job, she took a step back and thought to herself: 'Maybe this is the perfect time to try something new'.

So when the world started closing up and people across the nation turned to baking sourdough, Jess saw a gap in the market. The long-time home cook jumped into the kitchen and started sharing her recipes on Instagram.

Just 18 months on, Jess has managed to convert a modest following of a couple thousand into almost 80,000 followers. While building a career for herself that turns over a profit and allows her to do what she loves, sharing the joy of food.

So how has Jess built a business for herself so quickly? And how did she convert a long time passion into a full-fledged and profitable business?

Mia Mentors: The 5 Things I Wish Someone Told Me Before Starting A Business

Mia Mentors: The 5 Things I Wish Someone Told Me Before Starting A Business

The Activation Plan has been tried and tested by over 4,000 Lady Startups and counting.

Yep. Tested by literally thousands of women just like you. Women with a business idea, or a side-hustle. Women who, at the end of the Activation Plan, had the clarity, direction, and confidence, as well as the tools and support they needed to launch their business right.

So what does this mean for you?

Would you finally be able to dedicate yourself to that passion project you’ve been working on when time (and life) allows?

What about the financial freedom? Would it mean bringing in a second income? Relieving some of the stress from you and your family?

Would it mean working from home and not missing those family moments?

Maybe it would mean being your own boss?

Stepping out of your comfort zone, and getting that sense of purpose you just haven’t found in any other job?

Honestly, I relate. To every single one of those reasons. This is why I went out on my own, and I’ve never looked back.

Enrolments to the Activation Plan are now open for a limited time. Head to ladystartup.com.au to find out more and to enrol!

Shelley Sullivan: The Woman Behind The World's First Tan In A Can

Shelley Sullivan: The Woman Behind The World's First Tan In A Can

Shelley Sullivan is a serial entrepreneur. Long before she founded ModelCo and MCoBeauty, Shelley owned a modelling agency, it was here she found her vision for ModelCo.

When models were coming into Shelley's office with orange hands from fake tanning, she knew there had to be an easier, and cheaper option. So she made Tan Airbrush, the world's first tan in a can.

Today that tan is believed to be sold every 36 seconds.

It's no coincidence that ModelCo has been kicking goals for twenty years. They've been innovating products, understanding their consumer and collaborating with the likes of Hayley Bieber, Elle Macpherson and Karl Lagerfeld, they've even had Celeste Barber come on board as an ambassador.

So what are Shelley's best-kept secrets for anyone wanting to succeed in business? And if she could go back in time, would she change anything?

    Shelley Sullivan joins Georgia Love...
