Last week we spoke to Jaclyn, today we get to speak to Craig. He is Jaclyn's husband, the one who cheated. The one who left his family for another woman. Very rarely do we get to hear from the adulterer. Why did they do what they did? What were they thinking?

It's a conversation that is full of shame, regret, lessons learned and so much love. It's his first time speaking about this publicly.

    Men's Medicine - Second Dose

    Men's Medicine - Second Dose

Today we have a special episode- a friend of the family shares his story of mental illness, rock bottom and suicide. I met Fatz when I started dating my husband. He was a fellow footy player who had just returned to Sydney after an incident had occurred in the UK. I didn't know exactly what happened back then but I knew his close circle was really worried. It was serious. Today Fatz talks about where his mental illness started, how he spiralled and at what cost.

    Men's Medicine

    Men's Medicine

So, today is a bit different, were going to hear from two men, Nass and Lino. Both familiar with the struggle of mental health issues, rock bottoms and suicide.

First we hear from Nass, a young father from the Gold Coast. Nass is Maori, works as a labourer, he's big, burly, tattooed and handsome. He doesn't fit the stereotype of someone that is fighting mental illness. And that's the point. There is no one type of man that fits a stereotype. Nass bravely shares his story with us today.

Then we hear from Lino. Lino is the creator of Men's Medicine, a business that focuses on healing men through community, nature, breath and ritual based walks. Men like Nass have been deeply impacted by Lino and find real hope for the future. Lino shares with us the trauma that has led him to create a place for men to feel safe exploring their mental health.

    The Specialised Sex Worker

    The Specialised Sex Worker

Rachel Wotton has been a sex worker for 20 years. She has done it all and then some! But there's a unique element of Rachel's work, because a lot of her clientele are people living with disability. This is at times an awkward conversation. I always want to ask the questions that you're all going to be thinking, and sometimes with a smart, strong, opinionated woman like Rachel... that does not fly!

Re: betrayer

Love the podcast but feel Zoe should have vetted this guy out first. He showed no insight into his actions and the pain they caused; Took multiple opportunities to shift blame to the ‘other woman’ and her ‘influence’ on him and could barely see past his own experience of the situation from a self centred perspective. I am all for actually talking about how people work through betrayal or hurt in a relationship when they don’t want to leave but this guy should not have been given the platform he was given due to the issues mentioned above.

‘The Betrayal’ betrays the betrayed

I am usually such a big fan of the subjects and content that you delve into.

HOWEVER, I think that the most recent two episodes ‘The Betrayed’ and ‘The Betrayer’ are both incredibly damaging. They both send an incredibly dangerous message to your listeners - that poor behaviour can be excused and swept under the rug due to past traumas. This man literally treated both women with such disrespect and disregard. He portrays himself as the victim and it is just sickening to listen to. Why give people like this a platform?

I also feel as though Jak’s mentality endorses the concept of “we accept the love that we think we deserve”. Thanks to an episode like this, I feel as though many women may be influenced or encouraged to show forgiveness where it really isn’t due. It’s all incredibly irresponsible and doesn’t send a healthy message at all.

Many of us have endured trauma, some worse than others (though all trauma is subjective and should be acknowledged respectfully). This guy alienates himself from his family, abandons his wife and children, continually jumps in and out of relationships with his wife/mistress and then pulls the “trauma” card.

Honestly, I recommend this podcast to everyone and anyone. However, these last two episodes have left me incredibly disenfranchised. Please give more thought to what you release and the possible ramifications of the messages these pieces may send.

Do better 😕
