The Father's Abuse
When Georgia was 8 years old her father began normalising sexual abuse. He would force her to watch him masturbate. This went on for years until she was 12 years old when Dad did the unthinkable and made the abuse physical. Where the story goes next is so surprising. You really have to hear it in Georgia's own words to understand her journey of resilience, selflessness and forgiveness. That's right - forgiveness.

ICU For Kids
Danielle is a paediatric intensive care nurse. That means she cares for children and their families at their worst point. Children who are sick, children who are abused, children who are dying. I think anyone who's able to take on this role deserves a medal. Danielle has seen the worst things children go through and still gets up every day to do it again.

I See Dead People
Mikki has this amazing blessing and curse that she can speak to dead people. Apparently they like to show up at the most inopportune times and if you have this gift, it's important to set boundaries. This podcast describes a world that you may not see and may not believe in but it's super interesting and somewhat comforting to learn about.
In fact I became so fascinated by this that I've done a reading with Mikki that you'll find over on The Deeper later this week.

The Terminally Ill Dad - Part 2

This week we discuss some of the more unconventional treatments that Brendon has had done. It's absolutely wild and it's not a cure. This is just one person's experience and we're certainly not recommending this for you or your loved ones. However it is incredibly fascinating to see how other parts of the world and other people treat disease.

Obsessed
I listen to this almost every night before bed and I love it! Zoe has a great voice, she asks all the questions I would ask too, she is empathetic and understanding and she interviews some really interesting people! Her voice is really relaxing for bedtime. I don’t know why there are any bad reviews.
Loved it at the beginning but not anymore
I absolutely loved this podcast when it started. So many interesting stories but I feel this year I only ever see old stories re-shared or subscribers only. The ones that are free I never finish because the conversations bore me.
I’m really sorry because you stated off so well, I even voted for you for the podcast of the year or whatever it was called a few months ago.
Started okay, unsure of where you’re going
Edit: the woman with two vaginas; Your exaggerated reactions are really disconcerting. A little more professionalism in your interviews would be appropriate. As someone with disabilities myself, it feels rude that you’re gasping and continually comparing the experience of your guest to you and your child… it’s othering and offensive. Unfortunately I can’t get on board with any of this manifesting stuff. It’s giving “The Secret” vibes and I’m not about relying on my white privilege to get places in life. I started out loving this pod because there were interesting people telling interesting stories. Unfortunately, as time has passed, you’ve started to put too much of your own bias in there… bias that is impacting your ability to interview. As someone else has said on here, it would be advantageous for you to get some training on being trauma-informed. For me, it took a turn when you were talking to the human trafficking guest, and you put too much of your own bias in there, and it bordered on moral panic rhetoric. A bit too much opinion when unnecessary. I much prefer when the host can step back and let the guest tell their story and inform without interjection. Podcasts like Something Was Wrong or This is Actually Happening are a good example of the host really giving a platform for the guest. Just some thoughts. I’be been a listener from the start and I have been a paid subscriber… but I’ve actually unsubscribed since I don’t seem to be engaged or interested in season 2.
