The Spacemakers is a podcast to help you reclaim your time and make space for what really matters.

Hosted by award-winning author and TEDx speaker Daniel Sih, alongside co-host Matt Bain, we explore practical ways to shape a meaningful life by doing less, not more.

This inaugural season tackles "The Fracturing of Our Attention and How To Reclaim Your Focus".
From phone distractions to burnout, we’ll delve into why we’re losing our ability to concentrate and provide practical strategies to reclaim our focus muscles.

Over a 10-part series, Daniel and Matt, along with special guests, will journey through the topics:
• Why can't we watch a movie without grabbing our phones?
• What's pushing us toward burnout?
• What do tinnitus sufferers have to teach us about the power of the mind, and how is the internet reshaping our brains?
• What's the toll of silence deprivation on our ability to solve problems?
• How might our widespread adoption of MS Teams and Slack be hindering our focus at work?
• And most importantly, what practical steps can we take to retrain our minds to concentrate on what truly matters, for our health, relationships, and quality of life.

The goal is simple – to leave you with more space to focus on what really matters in work and life.

In this episode of The Spacemakers, Daniel Sih is joined by Tim Hynes to share observations about email and Teams in the workplace. As usual they also offer practical strategies to help you reclaim your collective focus and overcome distraction.

In this episode of The Spacemakers, hosts Daniel Sih and Matt Bain look at the topic of Making Space For Quiet In A Loud World.
Blaise Pascal once wrote: “All human evil comes from man's inability to sit still in a room”. While perhaps an overstatement, it speaks to the importance of silence, deep thought, and self-reflection.
Without space, we become frantic, caught up in meaningless busywork, living according to someone else's script. Join our Spacemakers at they discuss the importance of making space for silence, inner reflection, and deeply knowing ourselves.

Riceanator ,

Important for everyone to listen to

Great insight into how we can all take control back and effectively utilise the precious time we have available.

Puddleglum2 ,

Much needed antidote to busyness

I find I relate deeply to this podcast. I feel like tech has put me on a downward spiral of losing focus and thus losing the ability to meaningfully relate to people.
This already has been helpful in helping to stop the nosedive and start breathing again.

Herms7 ,

Challenging episodes and weekly actions!

A great start to a promising and timely series on how to make space in a distracted, multitasked, short-attention world.
