Board Game Barrage

I started listening to this podcast a little over a year ago, and it quickly became a ‘can’t miss’ for me. Kellen, Neilan and Mark all have unique tastes and perspectives on games that are both entertaining and insightful. They do this all while having a great time with each other. These guys are the gold standard and my favourite reviewers in the hobby!

An excellent podcast where the reviewers don’t share the same opinion. Even if you don’t know the game they’re talking about the debate is thoughtful and entertaining. Well worth the listen.

After 10 episodes I stopped listening and moved on. The hosts don’t sound like they are very excited about the games they are talking about. It honestly sounded more like a casual conversation between friends. That could be fine but, I found these hosts kind of boring. Also, there’s one or two hosts that do this really annoying “pro-active listening “ technique where they constantly affirm what the other person is saying that is really, really annoying. For example, to prove that they are listening and following along, they will interject with a “uh huh”, “oh yeah, sure” “right, ok” at the end of each sentence. Maybe it’s a personal thing but I hate it. I think there’s better coverage of boardgames out there.
