    The New Fitness Formula for Women Over 50: It's Not What You Think

    I used to think getting in shape meant pushing harder. Harder workouts. More intensity. Sweat more. Do more. Don't stop. But after knee surgery… I didn't have that option anymore. And honestly? It forced me to ask a better question: "How long can I support my body?" Instead of… "How hard can I push it?" That one shift changed everything. In this week's Do It My Way episode, I'm sharing what I'm calling: "The New Fitness Formula for Women Over 50: Walk, Stretch, Strength." This isn't about doing less. It's about finally doing what actually works for this season of life. Here's a preview of what I'm breaking down: Why walking isn't "just exercise"—it's therapy It's the most underrated anti-aging tool we ignore because it feels too simple. Some of my best days start with a walk—talking to my daughter, calling my mom, or just letting my mind wander. I always come back clearer, calmer, and ready.  Why stretching matters more than your workouts Most women don't have a fitness problem—they have a mobility problem. And you don't lose strength first… you lose range of motion first. Why strength training isn't about looking fit anymore It's about staying capable. My workouts look completely different now, but I feel better than I have in years, and I'm no longer hurting. Why sleep is your most important "workout" If you're not sleeping well, you're not actually getting stronger—you're just exhausting yourself. And the biggest shift of all… Learning to listen to your body instead of overriding it. Because at this stage: Discipline isn't pushing harder—it's knowing when not to. This episode is personal. It's a reset. And for a lot of women, I think it's going to feel like permission. Permission to stop punishing your body… And start supporting the life you actually want to live.
