Your Business Is Your Baby...But It's Not Theirs

Can I say something that every entrepreneur has felt… but almost nobody talks about? Sometimes owning a business feels like your heart is hanging outside of your body. Because this business? It's not just a business to you. It's your baby. You built it from nothing. You've lost sleep over it. You've worried about payroll, clients, reputation, growth, and making sure everyone else succeeds. You think about your business in the shower, at dinner, at 3 a.m. And then someone on your team misses a deadline, doesn't follow through, or treats a client situation like it's "just part of the job"… And you think: "How can you not care?!" If you've ever felt frustrated, hurt, disappointed, or honestly confused about why your team doesn't love the business like you do… you are not alone. And here's the hard truth I had to learn: Your employees will probably never love your business like you do. Not because they're bad people. Not because they don't care. But because they're not the owner. They didn't take the risk. They don't carry the stress. They're not awake at 3 a.m. wondering if the business survives. And while that truth can sting… It can also set you free. Because the goal isn't to find mini versions of yourself. The goal is to build a team that believes in the mission, takes ownership of their role, and cares deeply about doing meaningful work. In this week's Do It My Way podcast episode, I'm sharing:  Why entrepreneurs feel so hurt when employees don't care the same way  The mistake most leaders make when hiring and managing teams  How to create more ownership without sacrificing profitability  Practical ways to get your team to care more (without expecting them to think like owners) Plus, I'm sharing one mindset shift that completely changed how I lead. Because the healthiest thing I ever learned as an entrepreneur was this: People don't have to love your business like you do. They just have to care enough to do meaningful work with excellence. If this sounds like exactly what you've been struggling with lately, I think this episode will really hit home. And if you know another entrepreneur who's ever said, "Why do I care more than everyone else?" — forward this email to them. You're not crazy. You're just carrying the emotional weight of something you built. Your job isn't to make people love the business like an owner. Your job is to build a culture where people feel connected to purpose, valued for contribution, and proud of the role they play. Sometimes this lesson is learned the hard way.

    Why Brilliant Women Get Overlooked

You can be incredibly talented… The smartest person in the room. Highly respected. Experienced. Successful. And still be overlooked. Why? Because in today's world, expertise alone is no longer enough. Visibility matters too. That may feel frustrating, especially for women who were taught to keep their heads down, work hard, and let results speak for themselves. But here's the truth: The opportunities often go to the people who are seen, not just the people who are qualified. The speaking engagement. The media feature. The board seat. The dream client. The strategic partnership. If people don't clearly know: What you stand for What makes you different What you're an expert in Why they should think of you They can't refer you, recommend you or remember you. This isn't about becoming an influencer. It's about becoming visible in a way that feels authentic to who you are. Because there's a difference between self-promotion and owning your authority. For many female entrepreneurs, the biggest challenge isn't capability. It's visibility. And too many brilliant women are still walking around as the best kept secret in their industry. So here's the question: Are you waiting to be discovered or are you intentionally building a reputation people remember? This week on the DO IT MY WAY Podcast, we're talking about why brilliant women get overlooked, the hidden cost of staying invisible, and how to step into your authority without feeling salesy, performative, or "too much." You've earned your seat at the table. It's time people know it.

The New Fitness Formula for Women Over 50: It's Not What You Think

I used to think getting in shape meant pushing harder. Harder workouts. More intensity. Sweat more. Do more. Don't stop. But after knee surgery… I didn't have that option anymore. And honestly? It forced me to ask a better question: "How long can I support my body?" Instead of… "How hard can I push it?" That one shift changed everything. In this week's Do It My Way episode, I'm sharing what I'm calling: "The New Fitness Formula for Women Over 50: Walk, Stretch, Strength." This isn't about doing less. It's about finally doing what actually works for this season of life. Here's a preview of what I'm breaking down: Why walking isn't "just exercise"—it's therapy It's the most underrated anti-aging tool we ignore because it feels too simple. Some of my best days start with a walk—talking to my daughter, calling my mom, or just letting my mind wander. I always come back clearer, calmer, and ready.  Why stretching matters more than your workouts Most women don't have a fitness problem—they have a mobility problem. And you don't lose strength first… you lose range of motion first. Why strength training isn't about looking fit anymore It's about staying capable. My workouts look completely different now, but I feel better than I have in years, and I'm no longer hurting. Why sleep is your most important "workout" If you're not sleeping well, you're not actually getting stronger—you're just exhausting yourself. And the biggest shift of all… Learning to listen to your body instead of overriding it. Because at this stage: Discipline isn't pushing harder—it's knowing when not to. This episode is personal. It's a reset. And for a lot of women, I think it's going to feel like permission. Permission to stop punishing your body… And start supporting the life you actually want to live.

AI Isn't Replacing You, But It Is Exposing You

I want to start this week's conversation with something that might feel a little uncomfortable, but important. We're hearing a lot of noise right now about AI replacing jobs, replacing creativity, replacing businesses. But that's not actually what I'm seeing. AI isn't replacing people. It's exposing them. It's exposing who has systems…and who is still operating manually. It's exposing who has clarity…and who is just staying busy. It's exposing which businesses are built to scale…and which ones are held together by the owner's exhaustion. In this week's episode of Do It My Way, I'm diving into a conversation I think every entrepreneur, especially female CEOs, needs to hear right now: "AI Isn't Replacing You, But It Is Exposing You." Here's what we're really talking about: Why some business owners are quietly doubling their output while working less Why others feel like they're working harder than ever but not moving forward How AI is reshaping marketing, leadership, hiring, and decision-making And the real shift happening beneath all of it: leverage vs. effort This isn't a tech conversation. It's a leadership conversation. And maybe more than anything, it's an honesty conversation. Because AI isn't creating new pressure. It's revealing the pressure that was already there. If you've been feeling like things are moving faster than you can keep up with or like your business requires more of you than it should... This episode is for you. I'll walk you through what's actually changing, what I am doing differently using AI, and how to step into this next season without feeling behind or overwhelmed.
