If you are looking for a nuanced, empathetic, real take on current events in the US, this is it. Sarah and Beth started out as two friends with different party affiliations who took a chance on talking openly, vulnerably, and respectfully to each other. With time, they seem to have come closer together in their views (to me, a natural and welcome result of frank conversation). That said, they still discuss the issues from every side, with a desire to listen and understand, not to push an agenda. This is exactly the kind of discourse that is vital for a functioning democracy. We are all in it together - let’s act and talk like it! I wish I knew of a Canadian equivalent to this wonderful show.

As a Canadian long curious about and amazed by American politics as a sort of train wreck we just can’t stop staring at, it was a pleasant surprise to come across a podcast in which two down to earth, thoughtful, practical people engage in honest, open, frequently educational, but never over intellectual or inflammatory discussion of how to live well within it… whatever it is. Their names are Sarah and Beth.

Thanks to these two gals and their amazing podcast I had the confidence to let my stand for the chairperson nomination. I have the confidence because the podcast provided me with the direction, feeling and even vocabulary that I wanted to bring to the table. I want to come at this role in an open hearted, curious way. Real change that is going to help our kids is going to happen at the community and societal level. I’m excited and proud to be involved.

Even as a Canadian I love this podcast. Sarah and Beth’s conversations always give me something to think about and I enjoy listening to their perspectives on current events.
