What should win at The Game Awards 2023? [SyrupArcade Cast 10]
Ahead of The Game Awards, co-hosts Dean Daley and Brad Shankar are joined once again by Blue Ant Plus’ Chris Brown to discuss our thoughts on the nominees. Of course, a lot of this episode is dedicated to the six Game of the Year nominees: Baldur’s Gate 3, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Resident Evil 4 and Alan Wake 2. But we also look at several other big categories, including Best Narrative, Best RPG, Best Performance and, perhaps most controversial this year, Best Indie.

These are our favourite smartphones of 2023
On this episode of the Syrupcast, the pod squad discusses their favourite smartphones of 2023 in our annual year-end episode.
The team also tries out several new segments, including the return of a news recap, 'Tech Treat or Tech Trash' and more, as the pod squad prepares to revamp the SyrupCast in the new year. Along with episodes still hosted by Patrick O'Rourke, Dean will also take on hosting duties for several special interview episodes (you'll likely recognize several upcoming guests). You'll also see a more unified format across the SyrupCast and the SyrupArcade Cast. Bear with us as we figure out a new format for MobileSyrup's podcasts in the coming weeks and months!

Expect some controversial takes on Starfield before we all gush about Baldur's Gate 3 and Spidey.

Our experiences at the fall iPhone 15 and Apple Watch reveal event
At this year's fall hardware event, the SyrupCast team had the opportunity to record its annual iPhone event recap video in a fancy studio at Apple Park. This week's episode features Patrick O’Rourke, Brad Bennett and Alain McKenna, a Montreal-based technology journalist who has covered the industry for decades and currently writes for LeDevoir.

Fantasy Football: 2023 Video Game Edition (Part 2) [SyrupArcade Cast 9]
Back in January, MobileSyrup created a 'Fantasy Football' league-like draft for 2023 video game releases. Dean Daley, Brad Shankar, Chris Brown and Steve Vegvari contributed to the list of fantasy selections. Here's how it worked: in January, we were given the chance to select three games we felt would be among the year's top-scoring on OpenCritic.
This time, we selected two more games for a total of five titles for each participant. Points will then be awarded or deducted for every percentage point each pick falls above or below a 70 on OpenCritic. By the end of the year, we'll only look at the top four games, ditching the least impressive score for each person's collection of titles.

Customer Reviews
The best!
The best tech podcast in the game! Pat has forget more about tech than I'll ever know; he's a beast!
Tech from a Canadian point of view
I like this podcast overall and in particular the Canadian-specific discussions about the wireless industry here and CRTC.
Poor journalism.
These guys are pure amateurs. Lots of information is wrong or misreported, opinions are uninformed. Most recent podcast talked about Slack-Salesforce merger, but none of the hosts bothered to research what Salesforce is. Superficial. Don’t waste your time.
