Events so chilling that they spawned a 37 year cold-case mystery, a pact of silence among victim’s loved ones, and ultimately contributed to a cultural phenomenon. 

On July 16, 1984, twelve year old Antonella Mattina of Flushing, Queens disappeared, just blocks from her home.  Still reeling from the 1979 NYC unsolved child abduction Case of Etan Patz; the NYPD utilized every resource afforded them in their search for Antonella.  Now, 37 years later, Antonella's Case still remains officially unsolved. 

"Gary was a natural.  A great Cop." That's how Gary's fellow officers remembered him.  On February 24, 1985, PO Stymiloski had no idea that he had just stopped a Serial Killer.  Gary's unwavering dedication to duty is what brought this unknown predator into the light. 

The detectives who hunt Mengel, receive two bombshell breaks in their case, which ultimately leads them to another headline grabbing mystery.

While Mengel awaits trial for illegal weapons possession in Canada; back in East Durham, the New York State Police are at wits end following a massive ten-day search for Beverly Capone.
