Matthew Brown is a former Pentagon policy advisor who worked the counter-WMD mission under the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy. While performing routine file maintenance on classified systems, he discovered a briefing for the Immaculate Constellation program, an operational SAP governing global surveillance of UAP. He reported through proper channels, became a whistleblower to Congress, and is the primary source behind the public revelation of Immaculate Constellation. In this conversation, Brown describes what the program actually does, reveals a classified incident involving a triangle UFO over Russian naval vessels, discusses oral traditions of agreements between the U.S. and non-human intelligence, and explains why he believes our minds are no longer sovereign. • Disney: The Renaissance and the Empire

Disney: The Renaissance and the Empire

In 1984, the Walt Disney Company was worth more dead than alive. Disney Animation — the heart of Walt's famous flywheel — had stagnated for years, bleeding away talent while corporate raiders circled, salivating over offers to sell off the film library to MGM and offload the parks to hotel operators. But what followed instead was the greatest turnaround in media history under Michael Eisner and Frank Wells. Beauty and the Beast. The Lion King. Broadway. Bringing the Disney Vault home on VHS and DVD. And the greatest media acquisition of all time — ESPN. And then... it all almost fell apart. Again. Euro Disney turned into a money pit. Boardroom and executive infighting ran rampant. Animation descended into a dumpster fire. (Remember Chicken Little? Us neither.) Comcast — Comcast!! — tried to steal the company via a hostile takeover. Out of the chaos, a new generation of Disney management emerged under Bob Iger to stage yet another epic comeback with Pixar, Marvel and Lucasfilm, creating the defining media empire of the 21st century…until the tech companies came along. • AI’s third era: the rise of persistent AI coworkers | Tara Seshan (Product Lead ChatGPT Work)

AI’s third era: the rise of persistent AI coworkers | Tara Seshan (Product Lead ChatGPT Work)

Tara Seshan leads product for Codex and ChatGPT Work at OpenAI (alongside previous podcast guest Andrew Ambrosino, who’s her engineering manager). Before OpenAI, Tara spent over six years at Stripe, where she joined as one of the first five product managers. She went on to lead product for Watershed, which Time magazine named one of the best inventions of 2022, and she is also a founder and Thiel Fellow. Most personally meaningful to me: Tara is one of the three inaugural Lenny’s Newsletter Fellows, a program I ran a couple of years ago to spotlight the most exciting up-and-coming product leaders. In our in-depth conversation, we discuss: 1. The shift from “rowing” to “steering,” and why human judgment and ambition will become differentiators as AI takes on execution 2. How OpenAI thinks about building for model capabilities two to three months out 3. OpenAI’s best internal memes, such as “Is this maximally accelerated?” and “Are you mainlining it yet?” 4. Why ambition is the new bottleneck for companies, and why elevating others’ ambitions is now the key part of the PM job 5.
