Customer Reviews
Marathon Talk
The Olympic recap was enjoyable. Hollie is enthusiastic but this leads to her interrupting Martin on many occasions in the show and doesn’t make for great listening. Good to hear Training Talk back.
Revived to Advertise AWMM
A shadow of its former glory, feels heavily scripted and condemned to mention the Abbott World Marathon Majors at every available opportunity. I assume the podcast was revived as a marketing tool leveraging the reputation of the original format. Won’t be listening in the future I’m afraid (it’s painful!)
The jury is out
Well.
Welcome back, Marathon Talk; you were my companion and guide during prep for my first ever marathon in London 2021.
However, the new format and sponsorship deal with the Abbott World Majors has (IMHO) taken more away than it has given. It feels more like a supporting advert for the AWM series rather than an interesting, independent show.
I don’t think the addition of a presenter from the USA does anything to help either, regardless of how experienced a runner she is. I find her accent grating and the words “maraTHON” and “BuckingHAM Palace” are really starting to irritate.
Sorry, but it’s not hitting the mark.
