    Spencer, a passionate runner, is about to embark on the challenge of a lifetime starting at the end of July 2024. He'll be "clocking the k's" by running 30 marathons in 30 days across the searing desert during the peak of summer.
    With temperatures soaring over 40 degrees and the sun relentlessly blazing down, Spencer will be tackling the equivalent of 5 Marathons des Sables, renowned as the toughest footrace on the planet.
    He'll cover an astonishing 786 miles, comparable to running the entire length of the UK, but through the unforgiving desert terrain.
    Not only is Spencer aiming to set a world record, but he's also raising funds for the incredible charity Global's Make Some Noise. Get ready to hear about his inspiring journey that is about to push the limits of endurance and determination!

    This is an official Guinness World Record attempt for “the most consecutive marathons run on sand”, which makes it even more difficult. There are a number of rules that need to be followed for Spencer to be successful, including:
    The whole attempt must be made on sand - either on a beach or sand desert zone
    Spencer may choose to run barefoot or with shoes and may alternate throughout the attempt
    The entire course must consist of only sand. For instance, a layer of sand over a field of grass would not qualify
    All marathon runs must be finished within 6 hours to be eligible.

    Breaking the long-standing record set by Ann Sayer in 1979, Imo completed the gruelling challenge in just 6 days, 5 hours, and 43 minutes, smashing the previous time of 7 days and 31 minutes.

Great to listen to on the run

I’ve been trying to find a suitable podcast that talks you through a run as you’re running it. This is perfect - love the phased training ones as well! The interviews are really well delivered and relevant. We want to hear how ‘human’ the celebs are!!!

Great listening ran for few month's now I always stop a couple times to walk after listening to this I ran my first 5 mile without stopping once ,I ran my first none stop 5 mile 52min14 sec 10.26 min miles thanks for the motivation x

I listened to the John McAvoy episode on the way to run my first ultra marathon. Everything he was saying about trail running rang so true with me.
I’ve heard him interviewed numerous times, but your interview with him was amazing, you could hear his passion throughout the episode & he is truly inspirational.
