Strongly recommend this for any person of colour in need of solidarity, well-meaning white or actual terrible human. Also highly recommend subscribing to the suboptimal bundle - I just listened to Andrew’s singing lesson and was so proud I actually teared up! A damn delight.

I only started listening in March 2021 and I am already in awe of the public service Tawny and Andrew deliver. They know their limits, have no pretensions of deep academic insight into these issues; just their visceral honest reactions as humans. With clarity and intent they handle a toxic issue that most white Americans shy away from. And that holds true over here in the UK too. If you hit a not-so-great episode, persevere. You will soon be rewarded with a great one. This kind of shows is dependant upon the amount of preparation time available and on the guest’s contribution. It’s impossible to get it right all the time. For example, the March 24th episode with Jason Concepcion was superb, but the preceding Meghan Markle episodes could possibly have been better if they had invited onto the show someone from the Black British community (no shortage of candidates in LA these days). My only critique is that they are sometimes too polite. Name and shame. For example, the racist sheriff’s deputy who said Robert Aaron Long “had a bad day” is called Captain Jay Baker. Racists hate being named. Moral cowards at heart, they love anonymity. Don’t give them that luxury.
