Sixty years after a Soviet station was sealed beneath two miles of ice, a buried beacon begins repeating one message: fire has returned. Do not descend. Russian translator Burke knows the warning has another possible reading: heat has returned. The man funding the recovery prefers the more profitable interpretation. Below, the expedition finds lights still burning, doors chained from the outside, and halls packed with thousands of prisoners in experimental suspension. Then they find broken glass, blue-black handprints rimed onto the tubes, and evidence that something has already walked away. As the station warms, the machinery that kept its occupants preserved becomes a survival problem, and every heater, flare, and heated suit starts to matter for the wrong reason. With their cage nearly an hour away, Burke and veteran recovery man Hank Travis must understand why the Soviets chose freezing over rescue, restore the systems that were never meant to stop, and escape before the living become the warmest things left below. 🔗 Official Links: The only place to get daily and bonus Galactic Horrors stories with no ads or interruptions is Patreon: 📡 Join Patreon: https://patreon.com/GalacticHorrors Galactic Horrors stories are also available as eBooks on Amazon, with new releases every week: 📚 eBooks: https://www.amazon.com/stores/author/B0H2F5M2B3/allbooks 📖 Written by Galactic Horrors ⚠️ Content Ownership Notice All stories, artwork, thumbnails, and animations featured on this channel are original creations of Galactic Horrors.
