Her personal experience and clinical background inform her advocacy and enable her to help herself and guide others toward mental health recovery. We talk about Kit’s work volunteering with the US National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and how they are supporting an national suicide and crisis line. We compared how mental health is supported in the UK and how Kit used creative ways to support her psychotherapy patients and her own mental health as she came to terms with living with a Bipolar diagnosis. For episode 24 I’m joined by Wild Creative podcast host Emma Kvetna who is a Canadian writer and poet with ancestry in the UK and Czech Republic, currently living in Nova Scotia on the traditional territory of the Mi'kmaq Nation. Her work has appeared in Filling Station, Planisphere Quarterly, Bell Press and FAYD Digital and her work has been shortlisted in UK writing contests. Born and raised in Ontario, Emma graduated from the University of Victoria with a BA in Anthropology and has since worked  in various roles including self-publishing services. In 2019, she began offering web & graphic design, branding, and editing services working with clients in the creative and healing sectors. She is also an alternative writing teacher, musician and artist.     Episode 16- With guest Emily Schaules- Why the 'Always On' work culture is killing us and learning how to beat burnout by giving ourselves a break

For episode 16 we have another brilliant guest.This week I’m joined  from sunny California by Emily Schaules, a Transformational Coach who works primarily with women with invisible illness. Emily is a former attorney, professional actor, Lead Coach at Masterpath Coaching, Founder/CEO of The Canary Club, and creator of the 7-Day Virtual Retreat, ‘Shift Yourself’. Emily went from suicidal and on 25 pills a day by the time she was 30, to thriving in her body, mind and spirit. She utilizes Hermetic and Universal laws, as well as practical health and wellness knowledge, to help those who are sick of the struggle and want to design a dream life that honours their body and experience. We chat about designing our working lives around our health to find better ways to beat burnout and smash stigma about talking about our health and protect our boundaries. We also share ways to support people with ‘invisible’ illnesses with more compassion and creativity, and discuss the damaging health impacts of overwork and the ‘always on’ culture and how the 40-hour work week model is no longer a good fit for a healthy working life.     Podcast Episode 23- Creating Sobriety with Joe Kiney-Whitmore

For episode 25 I’m joined by Artist, illustrator and creative writer  Joe Kiney-Whitmore, who is originally from Wigan, England but has lived and worked in Poland, Hong Kong, New Zealand and now lives in Montreal, Canada. He has experience teaching creative workshops for children, young adults and adults with mental health challenges and learning differences. He talks about his journey since getting sober over 2 years ago, and forging his own path as a self-employed artist and blogger. We also discuss his goal to build an online learning hub and community for young creative men who have lost their way with alcohol or have a negative relationship with substances and don't feel creatively fulfilled or who are struggling with reality and finding meaning in their lives. Dr Candice Staniak is a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, Spiritual Yogi, Speaker, Author, Social Marketer, and a huge advocate for people having the ability to reach their spiritual potential. She understands the trials and tribulations related to the struggle of choosing and gaining freedom from the ego (mind, body, pain body, and collective unconscious). Candice is a co- author of Business, Life and Universe Vol. 2 and has launched a successful 6 week online Energized You program, that helps people gain energy and detox. She is also the creator of the Whole Body Visionaries Facebook Group. Creating a community for people that value Holistic Care. She knows that health is wealth, and when health suffers so do many other areas of life.
