In Legal Terms: AI in Education

We’ve had a couple of shows in the last year or two on using AI in the legal profession. Today we want to explore how is AI used in teaching folks to be lawyers. How is it used in teaching period? What AI tools can be used to help teach? We’ve got Professors from Mississippi Christian University School of Law to help us learn. Our guests are Drs. Jason Dean and Art Monteiro, and Law School Dean John Anderson. Today’s Legal Terms on In Legal Terms are: Generative Artificial Intelligence, Hallucination, Technological Competence I feel like we can follow AI trends just with this show. Like a time travel. We’ve had 2 AI shows in the last 2 years. If you go back and listen to the podcasts you can see the trends of AI and how it’s grown. We hope you’ll go back and find lots of our podcasts on different topics we’ve covered over the years.  In Legal Terms: AI Tuesday, September 17, 2024In Legal Terms: AI in 2025 Tuesday, June 3, 2025 With school starting there are lots of articles about AI and education but where can you get information you can trust? MPB of course. We’re a news agency also. I’ll have links from our website and NPR and PBS including: ·           AI: What AI Means For The Future Of American Education ·        Many recent grads say AI is making it harder to get a job. Economists aren't so sure ·       Special Series Understanding AI ·       Schools Race to Keep Pace with AI in the Classroom In Legal Terms, the show where we break down the law, explain how it works, and help make it a little less intimidating for everyday Mississippians hosted by attorney Adam Kilgore. legalterms@mbponline.org If you enjoyed listening to this podcast, please consider contributing to MPB: https://donate.mpbfoundation.org/mspb/podcast   You can listen LIVE to us from the MPB Public Media app or from MPBonline.org/radio Thursdays, following our over-the-air broadcast, you can hear Next Stop Mississippi on MPB Think Radio at 4pm Central. In Legal Terms: Legal Protests

We treasure our right to protest, but where is the line between protest and harassment? When does your right to speak your mind turn into a criminal offence? We’ll learn with Joshua Tom, Legal Director, ACLU of Mississippi. Today’s Legal Terms on In Legal Terms are: First Amendment, Public Forum, Time, Place, and Manner RestrictionsACLU.org has a Know your rights: protesters rights page. There’s a PDF for organizing a protest or attending one. There’s information about taking pictures or videos, sharing information on social media, and if you get stopped by the police while protesting.I love our show because we try to stay topical. I’ve come across two news articles with information about cars - that In Legal Terms has already covered. I read about a theft of two guns from an unlocked vehicle in the Tupelo area. If you listened to our show about Gun Rights, you would have known what a problem that is. I’ve also come across a notification about the Touch Law – 30 states now have laws against touching your phone while you drive – these 30 states include Alabama, Tennessee, and Louisiana. But if you were an In Legal Terms listener you already knew about this law.  In Legal Terms, the show where we break down the law, explain how it works, and help make it a little less intimidating for everyday Mississippians hosted by attorney Adam Kilgore. legalterms@mbponline.org If you enjoyed listening to this podcast, please consider contributing to MPB: https://donate.mpbfoundation.org/mspb/podcast   You can listen LIVE to us from the MPB Public Media app or from MPBonline.org/radio Thursdays, following our over-the-air broadcast, you can hear Next Stop Mississippi on MPB Think Radio at 4pm Central.
