Matt and Doree's Eggcellent Adventure: An IVF Journey

This show certainly isn’t about IVF, and it isn’t even really about parenting. Occasionally they talk about their child, but when they do it’s usually complaining about him. It’s two underemployed people talking about how expensive everything is and Doree recapping her tennis lessons and boohoo they don’t have weekend childcare(!!!!!) anymore. It is boring, they talk too slow, and it’s no longer as advertised. Speaking of advertising- buckle up, there’s lots of it!

For an IVF podcast, there’s actually very little IVF content. The hosts hear listener questions about IVF (sometimes) but often don’t even attempt to answer them (probably wise since I don’t think they are fertility experts) and just pose them out to their listener community. Other than that, it’s just meandering recaps of their week. I will say, I do like listening as I fall asleep — they have soothing voices!

I’m sorry, Doree, I like your F35 podcast (mostly), but I don’t like Matt, and I don’t like this podcast. You guys haven’t done IVF in years and you don’t talk about it anymore on the podcast. Anyone actually looking for IVF content and support (like me and probably many others) will be majorly disappointed at the random and unprofessional content. The episodes are not prepared or well thought out, the content is purposeless and meandering, there is neither point nor focus to the episodes, the conversation seems to cover whatever pops into your head at the moment, there’s not a good verbal flow or dynamic with the constant stops and starts, there are literally 50% ads (and who wants to pay more to hear all the long pauses, verbal jabs, and dramatic time-sucking sighs from you two?) and you both sound as though you can’t stand to be in a room together, let alone married and doing a podcast. To be honest, this podcast just needs to end. It’s not an IVF podcast and never will be again. And quite frankly, you really shouldn’t be talking about it, because the science has been changing so fast and if you’re not doing it, you aren’t keeping pace. There is no point to this podcast and it’s disrespectful to your readers to keep it going. I find it totally depressing that people are paying to hear you bully each other in passive aggressive ways for half an hour. Please just stop.
